Social media is horrible, but it isn't the only way they get it. My parents don't touch any social media, but somehow they still get filled with all the nonsense the old fashioned way. Even just a steady dose of Fox is enough.
I have to call them up once a week and try to get some de-programming into them so at least they wear masks.
My biggest nightmare would be my Dad on Facebook or Twitter. I'd pretty much instantly be changing my name. Fortunately, he's so sure he's right that he doesn't bother telling other people about it.

I've just stuck with my tiny group of like 7 friends with minimal political BS. My parents are pro-Trump Republicans and was FOX News or even fvcking NewsMax now.
To clarify what happened, my mother being bad with technology, apparently shared a meme about "#Stop the Steal!" repeated over, with no replies. After I clicked on the original post, I find my mom pleading with some friend to stop spreading Trump's and his followers' lies. I've A) never been so proud of my 83 year old mother, and B) just in complete shock at what Trumpism has done to our country. Very deeply saddened to argue with a human being with absolutely no grasp on reality. My mom has since, stopped sharing this meme. My mom is like a saint. Interestingly, she likes Bill Maher a lot. When I first saw what she accidentally shared, I was like OH NO!!! Then I saw she was pleading them, and I went into full protection mode.

A story that is falling through the cracks is Pompeo pouring gasoline over every diplomatic situation with days left in office. To call it "diplomatic vandalism" would be accurate.
He's doing all sorts of crazy things that serve no purpose other than to wreck s*** for Biden:
-Declaring Cuba as a sponsor of terrorism (wtf?)
-Designating the Houthis in Yemen as a terrorist group (obviously making a complex situation worse)
-Treating Taiwan as a diplomatic entity, which is just poking China with a stick
This is basically turning on the gas and lighting a match from a diplomatic standpoint.
