Being anti-trump is not a platform. As long as they can make it about the "racist" Trump they don't need to have a platform that actually benefits the voters. Biden, Clinton, and Klouchbar are all controlled opposition candidates. Bought and paid for plants who are only there to pull the party to the center.
There's a reason why Biden has spent his whole career caving to conservatives.
What would be the point of having Biden in there just so he can gut social security and turn over what's left to Goldman Sachs to "manage"?
Why? Because Trump is racist? He's evil? It's a spun narrative. He's doing what got him elected. He's being pragmatic. Rick Santurom tried to do the same thing, he just wasn't any good at it.
Would it make sense if Mitt Romney ran as a democrat and got the nomination? Would Bernie Supporters be expected to support him because he was going up against Trump? It's nonsense.
This is because Charles Murray wrote a book about the need for universal basic income. Suddenly Charles Murray wants to give away money now that it's the rural areas that are being starved of resources. Most of those books he wrote were about justifying harsh cuts to entitlements and educational spending.
I think that's ridiculous to say that Bernie voters "wouldn't otherwise vote". These are the people who helped vote Obama into office. Bernie's rise was mainly because of online outlets like The Young Turks and Jimmy Dore. These people were Obama's staunchest supporters up and til about 3 or 4 years ago. Saying that they are less likely to vote isn't based on anything. That's an old narrative about "hippy voters".
That's what they'll say, but the reality is that it's just them finding excuses not to do anything. It's always the democrats doing everything at a snails pace and the Republcians who seem like they have changed things drastically in that same time period. This is because people like Biden are there to cave and act as if they "did everything they could". They are all liars.
I didn't say all of Bernie Voters wouldn't otherwise vote but that is just how some of them are and he said so himself when people were blaming him for his voters supposedly not voting for Clinton. He's appeals to a lot of people who are disgusted with both parties and don't really see them as very different. He's bringing people in who otherwise just don't bother voting and that's a good thing.
