Trump: "This is a disease that attacks age!"

Right, so the kids could be rife with COVID-19, not know it because they are asymptomatic, and then spread it like wildfire to their parents, grandparents, and anyone else.

Howard's politics are actually pretty boring. He sort of lands in the middle, which means that both sides attack him. He's got right leaning views on guns, but with the GOP going a little crazy he's pushed more left.

He's the perfect example of how the middle is attacked and pushed out by design. Howard isn't political. He'd be the first to tell you that. Trumpers hate him because he sees Trump mismanage the current crisis and it pisses him off. The left hates him because he doesn't go far enough to blast Trump.

If you listen to Howard a lot, you'd know he hates Trump as President, he just doesn't focus his show on it because he's not Bill Maher or someone else who does that well. He's not pulling punches, he's just not that kind of show.

Howard never needed to choose his words carefully when it came to Bush because its all about Trump having done the show and Howard probably hoping he will do it in the future. He is absolutely pulling his punches.

That's because his political stuff isn't very funny. It just isn't his thing, plus he gets nasty calls from both sides, one for not loving Trump, and the other for not hating him enough. His Trump impersonator isn't funny and it is more sad than anything (how do you exaggerate Trump for comedy?)

He's been fairly quiet on Trump, but his views are pretty clear. He wanted Hillary to come on his show in 2016 (and that may have won her a ton of votes). He's a germ phobe from long before and this issue hits him hard. He makes it clear that Trump is unqualified and mismanaging things.

Howard is a lot of things, but he's no Trumper.

I know he isn't and that is my point. If it wasn't Trump he wouldn't pull his punches. Its not about him not being political because he didn't hesitate to give his true opinions of W.

He lays off because the right wing nuts go ape s*** at the slightest criticism of Trump. He gives these people airtime and try to actually have a conversation, but they just go all Trumper "but Obama!" on him and it is a mess. Just browse the Howard Stern subreddit and you'll see these folks. He has genuinely tried to work with these people and find common ground and they just rant like lunatics.

He says right out that him attacking Trump every day isn't going to change one thing.

Do you think he has a responsibility to step up and say more? W Bush didn't have a cult like Trump does. I can only imagine that he gets daily threats.

He doesn't have a responsibility to say anything. He doesn't have to bash Trump at all.

But the reason he wouldn't go all out is because Trump did the show and that is what is most important to Howard. Trump was a loyal friend to the show. It isn't about Howard being scared or him not being political. He is keeping the door open for a future appearance too by not giving his true opinions.

Questions about his tax returns. Does he have to submit them? I understand it is tradition. Like most of us he wasn't in politics and more than likely found (in his case) hundreds of loopholes around paying taxes. Can they go as far as demanding them? Would that then become mandatory for all future leaders? If they do and I'm sure they'll find this out it will hurt him in this election that much?

Law states congress can get anybody's tax returns. The FED is breaking the law by not handing them over. The SCOTUS is discussing it now, but is directed at state's rights in a criminal investigating. New York is trying to get his returns from his accountants in connection to a criminal investigation. trumps lawyers are asking for "temporary immunity," from them. Meaning, they're arguing that he shouldn't have to give his because it will distract him from his "work." Obviously, this "temporary" argument would stop once he's gone, and hopefully a democrat in office. Convenient, huh?

Outside the shame of being caught and a barrage of hilarious memes what can happen? I'm guessing pay the outstanding + penalty/interest and the hit come election time?

Depends on what's in there. It's a Pandora's box. There is most definitely tax fraud going on and it's going to be massive. There will most definitely be a paper trail for money laundering which will most likely be for russian players. There will also be embarrassment from his failure as a "business" man, and his fractional net worth, are shown to everyone, but his obvious cult members won't care.

The SCOTUS hearing isn't about public release of his taxes, which is what my last sentence is hitting at. The hearing is about state prosecutors getting the taxes, not about public release. Though, I would HOPE someone leaks them. Once they leak, reporters will go nuclear and uncover a trail like never seen before. I really hope they are leaked, but that's an argument trump's lawyers are trying to make against prosecutors getting them.

I think I heard it suggested he's skewed 'Valuation' of some properties for tax purposes, but at the same time or even the same year exaggerate the value of his assets when negotiating for bank loans.

Trump also acts in contradicting ways over Mar A Lago trying to use it as both a personal residence and commercial club and he can't really have it both ways.

I'm not sure how bad the taxes are beyond showing he's not as rich as he claimed by itself, but could be paired up against his previous lies to banks about his assets as a kind of fraud.

He was under valuing for tax purposes, and over valuing for insurance claims purposes, and, most importantly, for bank loans. There is fraud all over the map. There's tax fraud. There's insurance fraud. There's bank fraud.

Trump would never go on Howard's show after what he said. Even his "pulled punches" attacks are more than enough to get Trump to hate him. Trump asked Howard to speak at the 2016 convention and him saying no probably already put him on the hate list.
