Metacritic should be shut down entirely. It's easy enough to do a Google search to find reviews anyway. There's no reason to have to see that user review nonsense.

Maybe they could find a way to do "verified buyer" and tie into Steam/PSN/Xbox. But since metacritic is also movies, etc, they probably wouldn't go that far.
 
I'm sure these shows are fun to attend in person (I'd be there tonight if I wasn't working). And I am sure the developers are pleased when they are recognized by Geoff Keighley. However, I couldn't care less which game wins. I'm more interested in the game trailers more than anything.
