Ed Sheeran's "I see Fire"
It's smooth RnB-ish, but it strangely fits. I didn't know this guy could act or play instruments! I thought he was just autotone british pop flake. Really impressed. I love pop songs with meaning. I'm not above this sort of music if it just has meaning to it and sounds nice.
I loved the Hobbit but I can see why people were disappointed. The more light hearted tone was strange in a world that wants darker fantasy(GoT) and darker action films (The Dark Knight syndrome). We've seen it in gaming too. Ever since Bioware turned into a "mature and violent" mode with ME2 and Dragon Age 2.
Fantasy, Sci-fi and so on, wants to be taken seriously. It was strange seeing silly dwarfs, gag humor, fall-in-the-banana-piel and all that. I don't think people were ready for it. They expected to become teary eyed like those sad moments in LoTR when Boromir died.
I liked The Hobbit because it was a chance to get back into middle earth.
I guess my least favorite part of the film was the white Orc. I thought he was a lousy antagonist. No motivation besides being evil-evil with no intents and purposes. I'm looking forward to seeing what Smaug will bring to the table. A talking Dragon?
After having seen Gravity, my expectations of 3D have reached new levels. Gravity is the first 3D movie I have seen that becomes better because of it's 3D. I wonder if the 3D experience will be better in DoS. I was not convinced by 48FPS but I realize that this is my problem. It's my habbits that have difficulty addjusting to it. To me the filmic view is 24, and I think Gravity looked awesome in 3D and 24 FPS.
