So does anyone think we will ever see this? I have small hope but don't think it will be like it was announced.

didnt they re hire ueda? If they dont show it at TGS im pretty sure it is still in development, but they might have scrapped everything and restarted on new hardware.

That'll be a waste of money if they do that.

Since we're having a thread about Team Ico, I tought I could mention that it seems like Ico HD, is coming for free on PS+ on wednesday's store-update, in the states.

Other newcomer to Instant Game Collection are GTA: Liberty City Stories for PSP/Vita.

Also a few good Squeenix discount offers to plus members; Sleeping Dogs gets a drop from 25$ to 9,99 for PS+ members, Kane & Lynch 1 & 2 also drops down to 5,99 and 7,99 for PS+ thiefs.
2 other vita games also get's discounted, PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate, and Real Boxing, but those were rather small discounts, just a dollar on RB, and 2-3 dollar on PJM. They didn't cost as much to begin with, tough. :p

I think Metal Slug XX (PSV) and Pinball Arcade (PS3) is still free but dissepears wednesday, when store updates - if I compare this picture according to the current picture. :-/ But article on blog said Machinarium, is last chance. :-/

I don't think the game is dead yet. Too much money to not try and get a fraction of it back.

Nah, dead. The amount of trouble they claimed to have had with the game, and then all contradiction over the status of it = dead.
It were still in developement last month according to Fumito Ueda.

And only a week or 2 before that sony came out and said it was on the backburner. Never a good sign.

And Shuhei also clarified that with Puppeteer, Rain and Knack took presedence, since those resources had been taken up for too long - but there were still people making the game. :)

Well Sony still say other wise. As I said I see it being a different type of game to the one that was shown and of course now on PS4.

If its not dead and still in active development, its going to have to sell like gang busters to recoup the development cost.

So wait. Since this game never came out, does this mean we went an entire generation without anything from this developer...at all? Thats a fvckin' tragedy right there mate.

These guys are some of the most impressive devs out there and they never got the chance to properly rock the Ps3. Thats very, very disappointing.

Don't care at this point. Even if it did release, all the hype and waiting will have doomed this game.

Technically, improved versions of their previous two games were released. :(

Sorry if posted already, but I noticed this at GAF this morning. It's from a recent Yoshida interview. Sounds to me like it's in development for the PS4...

----------------
Q: I'll wrap up with an inevitable question which you're probably not going to answer. The Last Guardian - where is it? It's in this building [Sony Studios Japan] somewhere, presumably?

Shuhei Yoshida: Yeah, in this building!

Q: What console is it coming out on?

Shuhei Yoshida: Ahh... That, I cannot talk about.

Q: It doesn't seem to make any sense for it to a PS3 title so late in the lifespan. I know they have PS4 kits in their office, because I heard them talking about them...

Shuhei Yoshida: So, we're waiting for the right time to re-introduce The Last Guardian in an appropriate way. I can't... Well, the game is in development, and it's well staffed, and Ueda-san is here, working - even though he's not a Sony employee, he's dedicated to the product. But we're not ready to update yet.

Q: The hiatus that was talked about at one time, that's over now? It's back in full production?

Shuhei Yoshida: Hiatus, I never... It was Jack Tretton! He used that term, and I said no, hiatus is misleading. It was a hiatus in terms of releasing new information. The game has never stopped - the team has always been here. They're going through the re-engineering of the game, so the team size is smaller, because it's more engineering focused right now.

Why does it seem like none of the execs know what going on with this title? I mean you get a different answer with Jack Trenton than you do with Yoshida.

It sounds as if Yoshida is correcting what Tretton said. I would trust what Yoshida is saying, at this point.

I don't disagree. But the overall message seems that they are themselves confused with what state the game is in/at.

What do you guys think? Will Sony release this on the PS3 or is everything being pushed towards the PS4 now? I know God of War 2 got released a bit late into the life cycle of the PS2 while three was out. I wouldn't be surprised to see it get released on the PS3, then released in a trilogy package with Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on the PS4.

Maybe. I haven't heard what Tretton said exactly, so I'm just going off of Yoshida's comment here. Yoshida makes it sound like it was Tretton who misspoke. Yoshida himself seems pretty clear and non-confused about the state of the game.

Reading between the lines of what Yoshida said, I'd bet on it appearing on the PS4.
