OMG, Chapter 7: The Reckoning just bested every episode so far, IMO. Freaking gorgeous... and tense! I can't believe that the two best episodes (this one and Chapter 3: The Sin) were both directed by Deborah Chow, who is in charge of the upcoming Obi Wan series! My excitement level for that series has now increased immensely! This lady definitely gets Star Wars, IMO.
Yeah, that one felt a bit more like old school TV quality, rather than the raw western cinema feel of the better ones. It's interesting that Dave Filoni directed that one as well as the opening episode, which definitely has the darker feel. I am now wondering if maybe he shot Chapter 5 first as a tester pilot or something. Maybe they added the hanger scenes later in order to pad the episode, as well as include "the child", who's noticeably absent in the plot scenes. Just a theory.Looking forward to it. The only one I thought was weak so far was Chapter 5- The Gunslinger. It was still good but it just didn't seem to have the same edge as the others.
That banter at the start of the last episode was an abomination
I thought it was great. That banter at the start of the last episode was an abomination
Two episodes from this were better than the entire last 3 star wars movies.
I'm still making my way through the series but I agree. But maybe the reason their having so much success with The Mandalorian is the fact that TV allows for longer more developed plot lines than movies and having a singular vision as apposed to the fragmented vision of the movies.
With her getting a confirmed show of her own, it makes sense she is this.ahsoka tano will be in Season 2
