The Official Huck It Chuck It Football 2023-2024 Thread

Jags fans....tell me about Trevor Lawrence. I've only seen him play twice since they were on TV. And I thought he looked good.

He has good mobility. The ball seems to come off his hand effortlessly. He looked accurate in the games I saw.
But his stats are comparable to JaMarcus Russell.

Can he not read a defense yet? Does he not use the middle of the field or throw people open?

I feel like he can be good. But it looks like a very rough start.

I'll definitely be rooting for him this weekend.
I think the big thing is he doesn't have a great surrounding cast. The offensive line, wide receiver core, and running backs can all be described as "ok" at best, so opposing defenses can typically focus on playing the pass and/or rushing the QB on every play. Plus he is still trying to learn the system and getting used to the NFL pace, so it is a very tough spot for a rookie.

Personally I don't think the Jags have a winning pedigree and don't have people on staff who can develop a rookie quarterback. I think he'll be fine now that he sees how fast NFL defenses are and they get a coach or coaches who can develop rookie quarterbacks.
I don't know much about the Jags. I don't know if they have a GM who is any good or if the owner is willing to spend money. But what I do know is the Bears are FUBAR from Ownership down to players.

No receivers, no offensive line, terrible coaching. Dude's not set up for success

In all honesty, I feel for AB. Yes he's a giant a****** but I just hope he can get the help he needs. Also, the NFL is investigating before he's allowed to be cut by the team.

In unrelated news, TITANS ARE THE #1 SEED AND JUST HAVE TO BEAT THE TEXANS TO CLINCH A BYE AND THEN KING HENRY COMES BACK AND WE RUN OUR ASSES TO THE 'SHIP.

Only real issue is the Titties lost to the Texans earlier this season lolz

I love how well the Titans are doing. Especially when most "analysts" left them for dead after Henry went down. Shows how much they know.

All these advanced stats DVOA or whatever are saying if they secure they 1 seed they'll be the worst 1 seed of all time lol. We'll see

That's inaccurate.

1. James Robinson is a hell of a running back (now that he's injured and Etienne was injured, the RB core is a depleted turd mine, but the position itself isn't a problem.)
2. The Jaguars' offensive line isn't "ok" at best. It'd be "ok" if they signed two starter-quality players. On a scale of 1 to 10, the Jaguars line right now is roughly Yoko Ono's unshaven bush.
3. The receivers are... well, Chark can be good but he's out, Jones is good but he's about the only one, Shenault would be good in an imaginative, talented offense but he's not.

And the coaching staff like a dumpster fire, without the name brand recognition that dumpster fires have rightfully earned.

Lawrence looked good in the preseason, before hUrbanicane Meyer dismantled what little pockets of almost eptitude existed.

But at least Trent Baalke is still involved, because I guess the theory is he's definitely shown he's capable of running off a coach that won a Conference title and almost won a Super Bowl before destroying the team, so if we wait long enough a coach and team will spring forth from betwixt his mighty buttocks to do that.

The owner is willing to spend money. The GM is... arguably the best GM in the league if you exclude all of the remotely competent ones from consideration.

Hopefully Allen Robinson gets to play somewhere that isn't a total s***show before he retires.

Poor Allen. He's a good receiver that has had s*** CBS in his whole career.

Please notice that I didn't include running backs in my post up there. Robinson is good, so good in fact I can't believe Urban convinced Baalke to draft Etienne when there were so many other options available.

This pleases a Titans fan.

Sorry, I didn't mean to not come in armed with a full fledged scouting report on the Jacksonville Jaguars. I'll refer to your indisputable analysis moving forward since I am inaccurate.

What a game. Chargers should not have called that timeout.

Hey, so did the Steelers miss the playoffs?

I don't really know much about NFL,

I'm on the Buffalo Bills train. Those fans deserve to see a championship.

They will probably be disappointed though. Poor Buffalo.

Steelers are in. If the Colts won they would have been out, lol colts. Then if the Raiders and Charges tied the Steelers would have been out but the Raiders and Chargers would have both been in. Raiders winning means Charges out and Steelers in since they beat Baltimore. Wild and crazy day.

Which is worse?

The Colts playing in DUUUUUVALLLLL or The Patriots playing in Miami?

Congrats on locking up #1, improving your win total by 3x, Lawrence actually looking really good, defense played really well, costing the Colts a playoff spot, and lastly, the Colts losing a first round pick and not going to the playoffs (had to repeat it because f***ing LOL). I'm so proud of you guys <3

I missed that he was now gone. Expected him to get another season at least.
I tend to agree, but you can't remove the stench of a seven game losing streak, starting QB healthy or not. His first season shouldnt' count though, as they were in full tank mode and still pulled off 5 wins.
