Thing is though, they already drafted his replacement. If you weren't serious about it then what the hell was the point? Deal him for draft capital and a playmaker. He's absolutely worth it.

You don't trade up to take a QB in the first round for him to not play. We all remember how the Favre saga went, but this is completely different. Favre didn't want out until after Rodgers came in to relieve an injured Favre against the Cowboys. Remember lowdru2k ?

My memory is a little fuzzy from then. I remember Favre exploits after leaving Green Bay. That Vikings run was entertaining.
Yeah Rodgers has given that dumb organization enough move him out. They wasted his career. I’d like to see him make a few more runs somewhere else.
Favre for a couple years was saying he was retiring then wouldn't then they drafted Rodgers. Rodgers hasn't said he didn't want to be back with the Packers until now. So situations are a bit different.
I don't know how good his replacement is, but if SF offered the three like I heard, get you some Kyle Motherbleeping Pitts and let A.A.Ron head home.
