Friendly reminder, Mother's Day is this Sunday. What's everyone getting?

Mine's been really into cooking recently, and she's from Texas, so I think I'm gonna get her a cutting board in the shape of Texas and maybe a Texas based cookbook. (lol cookbooks)

My Mom wants garden stuff. Tomato plants etc..

Radishes are both a great treat to grow along side other small plants, and if you forget to pluck them out you could let them grow and die within the ground as it would make a great organic fertilizer.

I have to work, so while I was home just took both my parents to a nice Mexican restaurant. Will probably do the same for Father's Day.
Um radishes sliced drenched in lemon are perfection 👌

Did the taxes of my brother's dad a few weeks ago. He had been a long haul trucker for decades but has had a short distance trucking job for a couple of years now. Pays really well. If I could get a 9 to 5 trucking job right out the gate I'd become a trucker in a heartbeat.

I'm doing long haul south east regional now. Hoping that after building up experience and a solid work history, I can find something local.

I've also heard some companies are sending people out loaded and returning with the empty trailer so that would be home every other day on average.

How come sometimes when you go #2 it's messy as hell and requires handsful of paper just to get even slightly clean. But then other rare and magical times, you wipe and there's absolutely nothing there?

On the flipside, you ever take a small one and it requires an entire roll of TP? This is one of life's greatest mysteries

I don't care for Krispy Kreme, they're extemely overkill on glaze. When I was up north I got Tim Horton's or Kwik Trip donuts or danishes or coffee cake.

I miss Honey Crullers, it seems like I never see those in the south.

Need someone to lend a hand
If you're either a huge, huge bodybuilder, or very fat or maybe handicapped in some way, yes. Otherwise it shouldn't be an issue to do it by yourself imo. Not even if you make a super sprinkling s***, it shouldn't touch your ass cheeks in the starting phase.

Left my job late last week (two weeks notice) I had been there 4 years. Was a great company to work for and I did love my job, but I needed to really find a career with the pay I want. Started my new job earlier this week at an Industrial Paper Mill. Loving it so far it’s a lot of overtime with good entry level pay. After a couple weeks in I’ll already get a big pay bump and then I’ll shoot for the operator positions making close to $40 an hour. From what I’ve heard you rise up quick in this company.

Only downside is my family time and gaming time went out the window. Good thing is when I get on my regular shift I’ll rotate days and night shift each month plus you get 7 days off in a row a month each month. Can’t beat that.

I've been at my current job a little over 8 years now. It's alright, but I wouldn't mind moving back into WI. They're in several locations though including sort of where I want to go, so I've thought of even bring it up that if a spot opened there I would be interested in moving. I'm currently in their main location/area so I figure if they needed to hire it would be easier anyways. On the other hand, putting out the thought of me wanting to move back to the area I used to live makes me think they might just look to replace me outright, if they think I'm looking at leaving.

I'm in a similar situation. I wound up truck driving just trying to get a decent income. Oddly enough, the main product we move is paper or OSB Board Resin Glue for Georgia Pacific.

I'm delivering Georgia Pacific stuff now going to a Dollar General warehouse in Virginia. I think it's all paper towel.

But yeah, it's messed with my time for gaming and just about anything else. I just upgraded to a new work truck with a better power inverter though, so I might consider taking my nice gaming laptop on the road.

Thanks for your work. I will think of you from now on whenever I use paper towels.

Buying a new car is the most miserable experience. Even with all the modern tools you still have to go to dealers over and over.

I just know I'm going to have to mess around for a month playing dealers off each other to get to the price that we all already know.

Dude, just give me the price I know you're going to come back with after 2-3 times and after you pretend to talk to your sales manager.

What car you getting, or is that kind of up to how the negotiations go?

I think I'm down to a Honda Civic or a Kia Forte (I just need a little car to sit in traffic for my 45 minute 7 mile commute).

Basically, I know the Honda will be more, but it is a better car. So basically, how low will the Kia dealer go? I actually haven't test drove anything yet so that could swing things. I may throw a Chevy Cruze in there (but they seem as much if not more than the Honda) or even Hyundai.

I need something cheap and reliable I can drive for 8+ years. That's probably a Civic unless something major changes. I already got the Civic dealer to drop 2000 off sticker and that's without me even going in the door yet :) Be a lot more to go though.

Civic hatch and call it a day, ugly unique looking as it may be it’s quite spacious and haul a lot of large stuff in the back, with or without the seats down... try negotiating via email, that way you have stuff to back you up if they decide to change things up, you can always ask for what it’ll be out the door with all fees/taxes

I hate hatchbacks. I don't actually need any room. We have a van to haul our dogs around (2 large greyhounds, no kids) :)

I just need something to get me to and from work.

I'm trying the e-mail negotiations now. Seems to work pretty well. I'm doing what every girl did to me in high school, show the tiniest bit of interest and then ignore me. :hehe:
