Windows 10 is officially a freemium OS. Microsoft under fire as Windows 10 users find playing Solitaire now costs $10 a year (unless you want to sit through video ads)

Wait, people just found that out? I didn't read the story. I have downloaded and played the Solitaire collection some, as well as the Sudoku game, probably well over a year ago. They're apps, not part of the OS, and if they want to monetize an app, whoopdy-freaking-doo. If kernel features start popping up with demands for money or ads in order to let you access the files on your disk or to execute a binary, that'd be different, but you have to actually go to the Windows Store to find and download these games and the TOS (at least at the time I did it) was very clear they were ad-supported.

I thought Windows 10 was free so I could save on internet bandwidth while it struggles to connect to Wi-Fi for no f***ing reason.

I've seen almost every episode of the show multiple times in random order on TV, but currently nearing the end of season 6 on my beginning to end run on Hulu. I've held off watching the finale all these years until I could watch them all in order.

Download Simple Solitaire, if you want standard Solitaire, without any microtransactions.

Anyways, it's a bit weird to point this out about a game that isn't even included, that you have to download separately, that has tons of content and is nothing like that old one that used to be tossed in. I mean, if you're going to go that far, you might as well find the OG Solitaire and download it and be happy.

Ads in free stuff? ZOMG! MS is obviously the first to do this... ever!

Typical anti-MS rhetoric. They do what everyone else on the planet does and suddenly it becomes a thing.
