Threads - New Competitor To Twitter

Yea idk. Sounds like you can't even have a personal feed? It's like the For You on Twitter all the time. Plus I like Twitter as it's my s*** posting platform whereas FB and Instagram it's people I know.

Giving this a shot. Definitely rough around the edges. I don't like the idea of Meta/Facebook, but at least that gives it some weight behind it. Twitter alternatives from lesser companies just never get momentum.

It is definitely "worlds colliding" for me too. On Twitter I'm just "kerosene31". Facebook and Insta are actually me.

Already at 30 million sign-ups in a day. And Europe still hasn't launched yet.

The only way Twitter would ever be threatened would be from a billion dollar tech company with the actual capital and man power to put out a rival app. Unfortunately that tech company was Meta. However, using Instagram as a jump off point for Threads was a brilliant idea. It paved a instant way for millions to sign up and even if you didn't have a IG account, signing up for Threads was still easy. Unless you download the IG app you will never see your actual Instagram account, for those of you who don't care about IG.

F**king Elon "Free Speech" Musk

You can't see the tweet from my previous two posts because it's been limited by Twitter

Here's a pic

The exodus has been impressive. I signed up last night and already a huge chunk of who I follow is also on.

None of the other alternatives ever came close to taking off like this. I tried Hive and Mastadon and nothing like this. Hive got some momentum, but the tech couldn't keep up and it just burned out.

That's silly. This is the best thing to happen to Elon, he'll now have someone besides himself to blame for Twitter going tits up. He'll be wrong of course but past experience suggests he can work with that.

Nobody would have left Twitter if Elon didn't destroy it. He's an idiot. He overpaid for it, then tried to get people to pay. Twitter was the best social media platform for the longest time, now it is the worst. It barely even functions some days.
