I got the game. If you like the Borderlands series, looter shooters, Outlanders & the likes, then you will probably love this game, otherwise, you probably won't like it.
I am having a blast playing this game. End up creating a big bearded male, I mean type B, as type A characters, like many modern games are atrocious looking. Whatever I do not see my character's face 99% of the time, so whatever. My Type B character looks pretty cool, like a Viking, but a shame Type A is so bad.
Back to the game. I think the melee weapon & spells (many varieties) added to the loot hunt & gameplay. I am only very early (level 6) but so far it's one of the most fun I have had with a borderland game in terms of gameplay, as well as visuals.
Levels are linked by an overworld, like old school Jrpg world, where you are a big head giant character on the world map & it also has random encounters by old school Jrpg. It worked well as far, & give cohesion to the different areas of the game.
It does have the ignoring borderland mob regen after some time. Not an issue most time though.

Completely agree with you on this one. I bought this out of pure boredom, but I’m having a blast. I like the Borderlands games in general anyway, but this is another level of fun for me.
As you said the gameplay tweaks are great, but I’d also add the side quests seem like a real step up from previous games. They’re pretty varied, features some entertaining characters, and are generally on par or better than the main quests.
Overall one of the better games this generation IMO
What class combo are you playing?
I have a max-level spellshot graveborn character hitting the chaos chambers. I also started another stabbomancer/spore warden doing the story campaign.

I’m doing a Spore Warden/Clawbringer combo. Lots of passive damage happening! Don’t need to fire a shot sometimes haha. Definitely doing some kind of a Spellshot combo for my next character
