Nice. I would have thought it would be harder to stay alive in that one given the lesser armor.

That means you must have unlocked the SMG. Would like some impressions of that . Especially with the scatter MOD ( increased rate of fire) equipped.
 
If you pre-orderd through GAME you're supposed to be getting a beta code.

Are you all lovelorn and heartsick for want of a Titanfall Xbox One beta key? Well, UK retailer GAME appears to be giving them away with Xbox One pre-orders.

The retailer has yet to formally announce such a scheme, but VideoGamesUncovered has a screengrab to share. It's not clear whether keys are also being given away with PC preorders.


I'll make a few phone calls in hopes of more details. In the meantime, you can watch us livestream the Titanfall Xbox One beta at 1pm UK time today - watch out for Aoife's blog on the subject soon.

Update - A customer service representative has just informed me that the offer is, indeed, real, and that people who've already pre-ordered Titanfall stand to receive a beta code. Quantities are limited, however.

Well, I took one for the team and pre-ordered. Guess what.... no code. Here's my excert from customer services webchat:

That's not cool. Thanks for checking. I really wish MS would allow some sort of pre-ordering digitally. I only plan to purchase from X1. I think it would be perfect for them, putting money in their pocket ahead of time with the hopes of getting the beta code.

I can imagine a large amount of pissed off customers getting onto customer service in Game when they realize they aren't getting a code. I always hated that company personally. Never had anything but problems with them. This is the first time I've used them in about 3 years and lwo and behold, once again they f*** me around.

My impression is that EA has a serious hate on for me.
Not shot down once but twice. No alpha and no beta. Come on EA I am sorry I kidnapped your favorite seal and made a comfy quilt out of it.
 

He's on PC, graphics look more like a source game now than the alpha was. Looks like it could pass for a typical Half-life 2 environment.

Yep, both Game and Gamestation were in trouble ( both owned by the same group). They shut plenty of places down. Gamestation basically got liquidated and Game survived. Given how crap they have become since then ( saying a lot considering how crap they were before) it is only a matter of time before they're gone completely.

Not for me. Except for Supermarket chains GAME is my only source of gaming related hardware/software. The Supermarket chains just do not offer as much as GAME though. If Game goes down, I'm well and truly fooked.

Ok...I downloaded, installed and played the game last night......OH BOY...where to start......I will do a pro's and con's list....which might ruffle some feathers....or might not...

Cons:
  • Load times seem to be somewhat long
  • Graphically, the game does not feel or look next gen to me
  • The tutorial took to long and sucks that it was required before I could jump in
  • Feels like a combination of Halo and Call of Duty (may not be "new" enough in game play)
Pros:
  • They had a tutorial, which helped me get started. Nice addition
  • Fun as f***
  • Fast paced, quick respawns
  • Fun as f***
  • Crazy action on the screen especially when having Titan battles
  • Fun as f***
  • Menu's are easy to use, good stats
  • Fun as f***
  • Easy to get into. I was going 11-5 and 11-7 once I got the hang of it
  • Fun as f***
  • Feels like a combination of Halo and Call of Duty (two great games meshed together)
  • Fun as f***
I like this game soooo much more than probably 90%+ of the multiplayer games I have been getting the past few years.

If you don't get Titanfall (and you are a multiplayer shooter fanatic), you are going to totally miss out.
 
I hope when you say Halo you really mean Unreal Tournament especially since you said "fast paced" something that Halo isn't but UT is.

I haven't played UT, so really, the fasted pace shooter I can go by that I have played is Halo. But it feels like a Halo game to me in some aspects, combined with COD. Just my opinion.

Keep in mind that the download are not big to able to get the demo in for people. Games now are like over 25 gigs. I am pretty sure that the file will be far larger and the graphics will be much more.

Ah, good to know. I am getting the game, even if the graphics didn't change, or even if they went to alpha graphics. It's just too much fun to not play.

I am only at level 5 though. I see some hit the level cap of 14 already. I should hit that tomorrow.
