For those playing on pc, is there a substantial amount of people playing on PC?

Tried out challenge mode today. They should really change the name to 'Lets Take The Piss and Make this Impossible Mode'. I tried it 3 times with 3 different random groups and it was impossible. We barely did any damage and they rushed us like there was no tomorrow.

Yes. I have no problem getting into co-op matches with randoms.

That said rolling with a unionvgf crew would be even better. I was playing the other night with Dmega007

Oh btw some PC gameplay I recorded @ 1440p 60fps.

Am I just a noob or is anyone else finding the game a little difficult even on normal solo? I mean I am getting through it, but I'm dying far more than I care to admit. Although I get too aggressive at times when I should fall back and regroup. The bullet sponges make it tough. Still fun though, not frustrating. Snipers can be deadly as they should be. I love the glint of the scope.

I did some digging on suppressors and basically they just reduce "aggro" in RPG terms. Still not sure how it works, but it isn't like COD and other games where it drops your damage/range/etc. I still wished I understood the stealth system better. Enemies still sometimes are completely oblivious to me while other times they spot me from far away.

I actually found the solo content to be pretty fair and spot on. Not too hard but not too easy either.

Something I noticed is that when in cover just moving a little bit left or right gives you a second or two of breathing room. Allowing you to get a few hits in before they reacquire you. Especially useful on bosses and gold elite enemies.

Not sure what level you are and what you have unlocked, but make sure you read and understand each talent. They often seem pointless but their effect can be large. I for example was finding I took far too much damage when moving from cover to cover, So I equipped Evasive Action. Which reduces damage on the move by 30%. Then I noticed Tactical Advance which increases damage by 2% per meter covered when moving cover to cover.

That is a pretty decent talent combo as long as you remember to move a lot.

Thanks, I just hit level 8 so I'm just starting to get into the interesting things. I did grab evasive action too.

Also did you know you get XP from shooting rats? I got 1000xp from shooting one. Cool little touch.

I think this is what many people are wanting, a real challenge. If you play this game for another week or more you, and the rest of us will probably realize we're making mistakes tactically. I find when I stop and think I do far better in this game then when I play it like a typical shooter. It isn't easy though, which for me is refreshing.

I think we found New York City's one man pest extermination machine ladies and gentlemen.

I'm your man :)

I've found a good balance between breaking down my loot and selling it. Credits are hard to come by, and some weapons are worth the money. Finally got me a SCAR-L. So f***ing good.

WTF is wrong with random gamers?

I was trying to do a challenge mission and the first part went fine. Then the second part featured 3 rushing elite shotgunners. Now I know at least two people had turrets, so I told them to throw them through the door first to help suppress the rushers and give us time to work, and what do they do, they rush through the door, trigger the rushers, do not deploy turrets and we died again and again. At that point I just left.

It amazes me how many bad gamers there are.

I should be level 30 by this evening. So what do I need to know? Heard about some end game currency. What's that used for ?

I run into people like this all the time. Before Division I would farm heroic strikes in Destiny (very easy for high light level players) and I run into randoms who die in the early stages. Some players are just so bad I don't get it. I'm nothing special, but at least I have a brain and just don't die over and over.

Phoenix credits are basically your way of getting high end gear & blueprints. They are not some easy to get currency either. I am still trying to get enough for a high end main weapon--only 152 Phoenix Credits. Only way to get them is through daily missions--15 each for the 2 missions--and then you get them for challenge mode too--around 30. If the daily mission is one of the challenge missions then you can get 50 Phoenix Credits for it.

You also get Phoenix credits for taking out named bosses in the Dark Zone, but you only get 2-3 each time.

I'd be higher level by now if I actually did missions

I really should have left one alive so he can tell the others what happens on my streets

I've gotten lucky with randoms it seems. Only one team I've landed in wasn't up to the task. All the others were well able to rock it and all without a Mike as well. Of course Challenge mode will be a different kettle of fish.

I run into mostly idiots. Why is it so hard to realize that you can't rush in against bullet sponge enemies? This isn't COD. Your twitch skills won't work here.

Had one guy who was one level below the recommended for a mission never, ever take cover. I honestly don't think he knew how.

I was looking for help getting through a mission faster but instead got to carry him through the whole thing.

My yellow navigation line has gone bye bye. Makes it hard to find your way around. I don't see any way to turn it on/off.

I believe you click in the left thumb stick in the map menu?

Anyone wanna jam some hard missions on X1? I'm level 16.

I was reading the Gamespot review--gave an 8/10--and this paragraph made me laugh and facepalm.

No matter how hard I worked to level up my character, though, I almost always felt slightly underpowered. Put simply, The Division is stingy when it comes to gear and XP. My backpack was never more than a third full, and I didn't see a "high-end" weapon until I'd essentially beaten the game. Even at max level, your stats may not be high enough to activate your weapons' built-in talents, which sort of epitomizes the game's draconian design. The Division still manages to feel plenty rewarding as you progress, but a slightly kinder XP system and an extra level of gear rarity would have gone a long way to alleviate the frustration and fatigue I experienced.

Of course you are going to feel underpowered. You are not supposed to be a god among ants.

I have no clue how you can consider this game stingy when it comes to loot. My backpack always needs emptying and I always get a s*** tonne of loot per session. Of course you do not see a high-end weapons/gear till you basically finish the game. The "game" or story is there to serve the levelling process, which is actually very kind and not grindy at all. These types of games actually start when you are ready for the end game content. Which is where you build up your high-end gear and max out your weapon abilities.

Seems this reviewer just wanted an easy game he could breeze through without no issues and wanted all the best gear before he could actually use it. The he had the cheek to say there were no unique weapons, which is actually false. Sure, in design they are very much based on variants used through the early game, but it is their perks & talents that make them unique.

He also had the cheek to moan about a crouch button. This is a cover based third person shooter. It doesn't need a crouch button, or a prone position for that matter.

People seem to want an "easy mode" for games. I'm only level 12 but so far if anything this game is too easy. People have already maxed out in less than a week, and I've had no problems leveling except for finding time to play.

Guys, i need friends for this game! Down to play with any of y'all whenever I'm on. I'm only a level 7 or so i think right now but anyone who wants to group up feel free to friend me.

GT: HorTyS
I added you. I'm level 13 right now, but you should be able to catch up. I only get an hour or so in a night during the week, but not every night.

Just picked the game up yesterday. I can tell I'm going to put a lot of hours into this.:)

I call BS on that review. I just spent a good hour in my inventory breaking down and selling off stuff after a good run in the DZ.

Then I was playing with the different stats of my equipment to see which ones worked well with my build including my current talents. It took some time, but felt awesome once completed and started shooting again. I'm only level 13 too.

The only complaint I had was hearing that dude that needs his medication.
