Tony Bennett is correct about the state of the music industry

I think it all depends on who/what you listen to. If you listen to that kind of music or that kind of radio, yeah you're going to hear a lot of garbage.

Depends where you look.

Does Tony Bennet know how to use the Internet and Itunes? There is a massive world of music out there.

I wonder if Tony mostly keeps in touch with the music industry through Radio and Television. Or dear God flips on MTV.

Actually, I've been close to starting a rant about how much old people just suck, because I'm tired of how often I hear older people dump on the younger people.

Older people just are uninformed. Lost touch with what's going on in the world.

As long as I get Katie Perry is nude in several, several more music videos, I can't quite care to give a Van-Damn.

Everybody should be exposed to Pink Floyd in their lifetime. I enjoy alot of music new and old, but Pink Floyd is just beautiful music. I like Kanye and Eminem, but Pink Floyd is just a different experience all together.

alot of what's being put out today is basically garbage yet nobody really want to call it that. in the end the music industry seem more driven by the desire to make money as oppose to putting out real art.

Again, if you're listening to "mainstream" radio, it will definitely seem that way. I'd even agree that the most "popular" music right now is the garbage stuff, but if you actually look for it you can see a lot of good quality bands coming out with stuff all the time. Try Spotify.

I'd recommend Soundcloud and Bandcamp too OP, there is still great music getting made out there.

Also, everyone has different tastes so it is kind of hard to say what is garbage and what isn't when it comes to music.

Frankly, I don't care that much. People were making music long before it was an "industry" and they will continue to do so long after it ceases.
