2K has officially announced that it’s rebooting the Top Spin series.

Confirming a previous report which claimed it planned to bring back the tennis franchise, the publisher has announced TopSpin 2K25.

The teaser trailer below, which says the game is “coming soon,” was released to coincide with the start of the Australian Open this week.

“TopSpin 2K25 is the next must-play sports game from 2K that fully immerses fans into the world of tennis,” 2K claimed.

“For more information on TopSpin 2K25, including release date, game features and more, stay tuned.”

Kotaku claimed in May 2022 that a reboot of the Top Spin tennis series was in development at Novoto, California-based 2K studio Hangar 13 under the codename Project Hammer.

It also reported that Hangar 13’s Brighton office was leading early development of a Mafia prequel built with Unreal Engine 5.

The last entry in the Top Spin series was released in 2011 for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

Top Spin 4 was developed by 2K Czech, which would go on to be merged into Hangar 13 in 2017.

Is it pay to win or massive grinding like NBA 2K has become?
My fear also... but I didn't really have a problem with it in NBA Playgrounds... not sure how the real NBA games are though.
Will likely be patched that way a month after release.
Probably.... they usually have huge discounts on their sports games not that far after release though, so I guess you prob could wait and pay $70 total and get lots of in game currency.

You would still be paying the same price even if it was just the X/S version.

Well f*** me sideways... all new games cost over 800sek now lol
Now that I think of it... I don't think I've bought a new (full priced) game since... I'm not sure, years? Lol
That's Gamepass for you I guess.
Diablo 4 was the last game I bought at full price and I went with the more expensive edition that gave early access and a couple items.

I normally wait for new games I’m interested in to go on sale. My backlog is huge plus with GamePass.

Yeah, luckily most publishers aren't nintendo and doesn't keep games at full price an entire gen lol.
$70 for a tennis game is pretty high priced... I'll prob hold off... bummer.

Yeah... was going to buy this day one... but I just can't pay full price for a sports game... unless there's an amazing career mode with good variety... which honestly, I've yet to see in just about any sport game the last decade.
Will buy when it's on sale though, love tennis games, especially couch doubles (lol) with friends.
