I want this game really bad, but I'm trying to play through some of the games I already own before buying anything new.

I think it looks great visually and the soundtrack from what I've heard is nice. I just wish I could get into these types of rpg's

The combat system is action based but you can pause it and issue a number of actions depending on their cost and how much turn() meter that you have available. It is fantastically designed. I am currently completing my second playthrough for that mighty fine Platinum. Everyone should be playing this game, it is simply fantastic.
