Ubisoft+ Coming To Xbox And Rainbow Six Extraction Launching On Xbox Game Pass

Ubisoft announced that its Ubisoft+ subscription service will be coming to Xbox in the future. Originally launched for PC, the service allows access to more than 100 Ubisoft titles at a single monthly cost, with games and DLC available on launch day, and monthly rewards including cosmetics, boosters, in-game items, and more. But that's not all -- Ubisoft also announced that Rainbow Six Extraction will be a day one addition for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members, allowing them to play on Xbox consoles and PC right from the game's launch on January 20. Rainbow Six Siege, already available as part of Xbox Game Pass, will be available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members the same day, giving PC players the chance to squad-up for even more Rainbow Six action with their friends.

Rainbow Six Extraction is a co-operative PVE experience that places players in the shoes of well-known Rainbow Six Siege operators with up to three friends, facing off against a mysterious alien menace that threatens life on Earth. With 18 operators to choose from and a variety of unique gadgets and weapons at their disposal, players will need to communicate and think tactically to take on their otherworldly adversaries and safely extract their captured teammates.

“By making Rainbow Six Extraction available to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members on the day and date of its launch via Xbox Game Pass, we’re demonstrating that we believe in the value and choice that game subscriptions offer to players,” said Chris Early, Ubisoft’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development. “Rainbow Six Extraction for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members is just the beginning. Ultimately, we will offer the Ubisoft+ subscription service to Xbox owners so that they can enjoy the full extent of our Ubisoft+ game library, including new releases, on their consoles.”

"With Rainbow Six Extraction, Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members are getting another blockbuster added to their library on the same day the title launches,” said Sarah Bond, Corporate Vice President, Game Creator Experience and Ecosystem at Xbox. “And because Rainbow Six Siege will be on both Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass as well, the Rainbow Six community and fans of tactical shooters will have plenty to look forward to playing together, no matter where they play.”

Rainbow Six Extraction launches on January 20 and will be available on Xbox Game Pass and for PC Game Pass members when it releases. Rainbow Six Siege is already available on Xbox Game Pass and will be available to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members on the same day. Well in the tweet you posted in the VS thread they tweeted at gamepass, imagine if they integrated at no extra cost, doubtful but that would be insane.

Maybe Ultimate announcement.

Yeah unfortunately, this is probably going to end up like the current video streaming landscape where every single corp now has their own app/subscription....like why in the f*ck did I cut the cord? What ends up happening in my household is that we have Netflix/Hulu as the mainstays and I unsub/resub to Disney+/Apple TV+/HBO Max/Paramount+ and Shudder when I feel they actually have content that I want. Frankly I cannot see subscribing to Ubi+ separately....if there is a game I want, I'll just end up buying it/waiting for a sale. All these subs are a b*tch to manage. If it's part of GPU, then great but if not, hard pass.

Yea it's too much, everyone wants that passive income pie, I will probably do what I do with Amazon and Disney and sub for a couple months and get my fill then get out.

I do that with all sub services. No point paying if there isn't anything you really want.

Long term crunch is not a good thing. Funny how games are way more buggy than they used to be and with less content. There's a pettern.

Crunch = rushing, and rushing code is a bad idea.

The article also mentions late strategic decisions which is another common problem. Want a major change or addition late? Push the date back or hire more people.

Imagine if you had a contractor over to paint your house. While he's up the ladder, you yell, "Hey, put on a new roof while you're already up there, and have it done in the same time frame!".

It is called scope creep. You can't change what the final product looks like without adding resources and/or time. Having an intimidating manager yelling to "work harder" isn't the answer.

I've worked in this field (not gaming) in 12 hour days and you can do it for a short time before you burn out and quality gets worse. I'd crunch on some Y2K projects back in the day for a couple of weeks. That I get. Doing it as a norm is some bull****.

That list is actually far more appealing to me than anything on GP. I already own 24 of them and would only play a handful of the rest even if I were stupid enough to spend that kind of money just to rent those games. I was expecting $9.99 per month at the most and maybe $5 bundled with GP.

Is this only on Xbox consoles?

If it is then it is pricey for having access to it all on just Xbox, 10 bucks May have been ok….but I could only see thr 18 if it were to include access across all consoles and pc, or at the very least include pc and cloud, with Xbox

*edit to add below

🤣 just saw the email, it does include all three, Xbox, pc and the cloud.

Should I merge this thread with the other and move it to Xbox?

Insane pricing considering you can usually get some good deals for their games.
All their more recent best games are on other services that cost less and offer a far greater number of games with far more diversity.
