Let's try this again, shall we? For those who haven't seen the 1080p/60 trailer direct from ND. It looks amazing.

So it seems this will be the last title in the series. Looking to be going out with a bang. Cannot wait. The cutscene shown seems to look similar to the first Uncharted's environment.

Also, confirmed by ND:

"The teaser was later confirmed to be in in-engine, and running in real-time on the PS4. This was first confirmed by Corrinne Yu on her twitter account, and later by GamingBolt, who asked this question from Naughty Dog and got a confirmation regarding it."

According to another user on popular dev forum Beyond3D, Naughty Dog are going to drop pre-rendered cutscenes starting with Uncharted 4.

Beginning with Uncharted 4, all Naughty Dog games will feature completely in engine, real time, 3D cutscenes (if they even stay cutscenes anymore), a huge performance departure from what they used to ship.

This was confirmed by another Senior Animator at Ubisoft, who had heard the same from his friends at Naughty Dog.

Yeap – my buddy from ND confirmed that too ; ) he said they have some crazy rendering pipeline there…

Well I'll wait and see if they pull off 1080 and 60 . I hope they do and please let it be drakes last game don't milk the brother. So no prequel BS in the future for drake let this be it.
 
I can't imagine there's anything more to be said on this subject, but people always surprise me.

It looks good.

I hear this is the last in the series. A shame, but maybe for the best. I suppose there's always the possibility of a return, especially with such a financially successful franchise.
 
I think it's a little bittersweet that this is last in the series. They already have TLOU as another 'newer' IP to carry on, I think it's time to do the almost traditional new generation of console IP from ND (PS1 - Crash, PS2 - Jak, PS3 - TLOU And Uncharted).

Game's gonna be great, and I cannot wait.

Agreed, if people want to discuss how dishonest Sony/Naughty Dog are, how much they lie, how they beat your parents in front of you. Please make a thread about that. Let's keep this one strictly on subject about the franchise. Feel free to talk about the graphics, whether you're impressed or think it looks like something that your commodore 64 would spit out. But we need not continue to beat the dead horse that is "is it real real-time', 'read between the lines', 'don't be a sheeple!' talk.

They'll probably move on to introducing a new franchise for PS4 era. I'm just hoping one day some damn developer in this industry makes an open world RPG set in like Joseon era Korea with some NG type combat and loot out the ass. Le siiiiigh.
 
Hopefully these beautiful graphics can transfer from cinematics to gameplay. It's crazy what Naughty Dog is capable of doing despite what hardware limitations they may face.
 
They really should put out a remaster collection of Uncharted 1-3 before this comes out. They're probably already on that though.
 
Thanks for posting as I didn't really catch it during the conference. I thought they were done with the series at 3 but I will be playing this. Looks pretty damn good.
 
Woooooooooooowwwww.... That 1080p look is :surprise: Man UC4 is gonna make me pull the trigger on the ps4 when it pops out.

Edit: Holy Crap I just noticed Nathan Drake now has strands of white hair. He definitely grew old.

How Many years after UC3 is this again?

I think people were speculating he looks about 10 years older than UC3 Nathan Drake.

I wonder if they did have one and then they were murdered or something along that line, now he's forced to return to the "Thief's World" and take down those responsible. The trailer seemed pretty dark to me and it sounds like Sully is gone too. That would be sad and epic at the same time.

Looks awesome. Never owned a PS3 and this is prolly the one franchise that I'm bummed I've never had the chance to play.
 
Uncharted HD Trilogy would be great and introduce the 4 million+ PS4 owners who didn't own a PS3 to the series.
 
Regardless of "realtime" or not Naughty Dog will deliver some of the best, if not the best looking games on the platform.
 
I hope this game is a bit longer than the others, they were always a fun ride but they always felt like they were over too quickly.
 
Sully in this new one should be dead of old age if it's like 10 year later I mean damn he was older when he find drake as a kid. The guy would have to be f***ing 150 by now. I do hope this game is the last for drake they can always follow his kid in the future or something if they want.

3 was good but 2 was just so f***ing great and new at the time that 3 just fault like more of the same. I'd hate to see this series go that way like if you ask me Sony has done with God Of War. I'd love to see drake just have a nice arc of 4 games and that is it for him. Don't milk it and water down the series like Sony did with GOW. I forgot about the game on vita so that is 4 games with drake already come on Sony 5 is enough unless they could really change things up with more in the series.
 
That cutscene looks great. I imagine all the cutscenes in the game will look that good. I hope they carry over the same humor from UC3.

Just rent one and all the games, they are good short rides, but not worth owning imo. I just let my xbox friend borrow all my ps3 exclusives and he beat them under a couple of weeks, most of them are super short.

UC4 though, i will probably own, no idea what other AAA games will be out then with delays figured in.

I shot at/and killed about 2,768 brain dead enemy AI until I stopped halfway through Uncharted 2. Why on God's green earth would I want to shoot those same brain dead AI all over again?

Uncharted is a good fun and humorous game series. ND hit a homerun with this game series, it's one of the franchises that defined the Playstation last gen.

I'd like a new Uncharted now, I havn't played one since Euro Vita-launch and want to get back into Nathan Drake's world, and that's a while ago.. :)
I used to be very down on franchise-fatigue aswell, but the main problem for me were mainly the yearly franchises..
Nowadays there are so many great games - if I don't feel like playing it I just jump ship.
