Some of these guys must've been doing the same kind of thing for a decade or more. Even when it's enjoyable, it's stressful, working at such a high-profile studio, on games that attract so much attention. Budgets are getting bigger, expectations are really high ... and meanwhile you're feeling like, "Okay, Uncharted 4... Here we go again..." These are creative individuals at the top of their game. Maybe they're just tired of working on the same stuff they've already worked on for years. Maybe they just want to work on something entirely new.
It might be the "BS factor," too. All companies generate their unique forms of BS (e.g., office politics, ignorant coworkers, petty bickering, pointless meetings, arbitrary goals, etc.). I also know that the more successful and financially secure you get, the less willing you are to put up with the BS. So maybe the BS got to them, and they decided they didn't need the headaches.
I'm just speculating, of course.
