The good:
  • The shorter length should mean tighter pacing.
  • No family/relational angst. Nathan, Sam, and Elena are on the shelf.
  • Chloe looks better from behind than Nathan does.

The bad:
  • No Nate, so fewer humorous quips and less laughing at him f*cking stuff up.
  • I don't like Nadine. But then, I don't think I'm supposed to like her.
  • Do I want more Uncharted now, after having just played through UC4? Probably not yet.

The indifferent:
  • Something new for the series.
  • The "spinoff" model might be a way to monetize SP games.
  • Includes UC4 MP.

Looks cool. I think $40 for 8-10 of new SP game content is worth it, 'specially if it's a ND game. I wouldn't say it's bad timing for "another chapter", IC4 proper has been out a year now?

Yeah, it's good timing for people who played through UC4 a year ago. I just finished a week ago, so it's a little early for me. :)
 
I'm surprised that it's already releasing soon. I kind of put it out of my mind after the first E3 showing.

I'm interested. Might not be a day one purchase though.

LOL, kinda figured that you had just finished it recently by your post. I was just talking in general lifespan of the game :p

$25 if you bought the triple pack season pass in April.

Always a common problem for me. Played Uncharted 4 over a year ago but it's still fresh in my mind. Can't handle all the epicness they keep throwing at us. I need a break every now and then. Good thing is my backlog is huge, so i can put this off for awhile.

Happy to see all the Jeep driving over rough terrain, that was some of the most fun in UC4. I'm in.

You can say that about 95% of games lately. My game purchasing has slowed down to 5-8 games per year because everything has been done before. I don't mind when it comes to my favorite game series such as this one and AC, though.
 
Yeah this is basically DLC for UC4, so it's understandable.

I think I'm just getting Uncharted fatigue. I'm kind of glad ND moved on to TLoU.

Yeah, looks familiar as in another game in an award winning series. Plus we get to look at dat ass all game. Come on now, nobody cared about Tomb Raider as a game either. It was all about the view.
 
From a preview event hosted by Naughty Dog:

The Lost Legacy’s creative director, Shaun Escayg, said that they wanted to get the “sense of adventure” and “being lost” back. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is expected to be 10 hours long and that it’s also full of surprises.

"One of the things we set out to do with this game is the best of the Uncharteds, right? We wanted to bring back all that we love about the Uncharted games. And, look, players have grown and evolved – and so has the technology. Likewise, we have with it.

"So we wanted to get the wonder back – that sense of adventure and being lost and not knowing what’s around every corner. In an established franchise that’s still doing pretty much the same thing, we wanted to give a different feel to it. So the open world gives this sense of discovery – there’s something new at every turn.”


That sounds good. Of course, they're plugging the game, so who knows how much of a "different feel" there really is. I'm a skeptical person, so I'm keeping my expectations in check. But still, I'm hopeful. I missed that sense of adventure and surprise in UC4.

I know it adds some characters and stuff to the UC4 multiplayer. I was wondering though, does ANYTHING carry over from UC4 for those that finished UC4? The game STARTED as DLC, so I thought maybe something might carry over?

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy patch file size
The digital download of the game itself clocks in at around 44.7GB. After patches the file size is around 48GB. Essentially making version 1.01 being roughly 3.3GB.
