So War thunder is finally coming out today on PS4. Anyone else excited?

For us in Gaijin Entertainment, this new generation of of gaming is all about experimentation and new business models, and War Thunder is a prime example of this: a cross-platform, free-to-play, massively multiplayer historical combat game.

The most important part is that War Thunder is an online game and it evolves constantly. There were several major updates for the PC version of the game since November, including the launch of the Ground Forces expansion pack. This addition allows players to control armored vehicles such as tanks and anti-air guns which are fighting planes in some of the game modes. This simulates the realities of war where different army branches always supplemented each other in battles.

Our idea was to present PS4 players in North America with the latest version of the game, and today we’re proud to announce that War Thunder is coming out on June 3rd and it includes the Ground Forces expansion from the start! And, of course, all of the other exciting features found in the latest 1.41 version of the game — 350 different planes, squadron battles, 150 different multiplayer missions, and single-player campaigns and scenarios.

We can’t wait for launch, and we’re are preparing something special for PS4 players — stay tuned to PlayStation.Blog to hear more details soon!

This looks cool and i look forward to playing it on ps4. Hopefully it will be available for download after i get home tonight.

I've been playing this game for a while now on pc. It's a lot of fun. One thing you'll find frustrating when starting out is your pilot will constantly get knocked out unless you increase the vitality of your crew. Upgrading crew takes a loooong time. If you like the gameplay, think about investing like 10 bucks and get some golden eagles to use on your crew. Have fun!

I’ll check it out. But my gaming drought has passed and there are now so many games for me to play. This would have served me well a few months back but now it will probably get lost in the shuffle of all these games on my plate now. And that’s not even counting all the free games coming from both console platforms. War Thunder most likely missed its window of opportunity with me.

anyone played both PC and ps4, I'd like t hear the differences. DL'ing on ps4 now.

Its pretty fun, I played for about 3 hours straight. It looks decent too, cool effects, great plane models, and draw distance, the only thing I noticed was framerate issues on a tank mission in jungle, it probably dropped under 15fps a few times, The menus are terrible too, probably some of the worst I've seen. Other than that, its a fun game.

This is another one of those perpetual beta games so yeah it has some rough edges. The UI is pretty much just the PC UI and ground forces just recently launched.

I haven't did any plane battles yet but the framerate during tank battles is pretty bad.

I tried it last night and liked it a lot, I wasn't very good at it but had a great time playing it.

Makes sense they are frame rate issues. Warframe and Blacklight are two other F2P games with similar issues. Some of these more demanding indie games on PS4 are struggling with performance.

I know just imagine how bad Xbox One would struggle with them.

Tried to play tonight, got a error after trying to connect for awhile so I gave up. Will try again tomorrow.

I am not sure about Blacklight as I haven't played it. Warframe, on the other hand, performs smoothly without any apparent frame drops.

I tried the EU version or w/e months ago and I thought it sucked. Not my type of game.

To be fair, War Thunder performs like crap on PC too, especially the ground stuff. They are still optimizing and working out the kinks.

Its sort of confusing learning how to train crews etc, and it always seems like I have the wrong vehicle to start the mission or event I'm trying. It should give you an option screen at that point to select the correct plane or tank.
The menus are just beyond terrible, but I really like the game. Its bats*** crazy hard in some of the simulation missions, but I enjoy the challenge.

Still can't play the game. Keep getting an error when trying to log in saying I need an internet connection, but my connection is fine. About ready to give up on this.

Is there anyway to enlarge the fonts in the menus? on my ps4 i find eveything is so small and makes it very hard to read especially when trying to research planes. The few games i have played i liked but the fonts are really annoying.
