The spaces between realities!
I guess this explains musicians getting an ungodly amount of ass...

Researchers believe that the more creative you are, the more sex buddies you are going to have. They believed that this is the explanation why some infamous people like Dylan Thomas and Lord Byron becomes a womanizer.
According to the University of Newcastle researchers, both artist and poets have more than double the sex buddies compared to someone who are not into such artistic occupations.

It is believed that those who are in such occupation share the hobby as those of a sick patient. Such traits recognized to be connected to the desire to have sex and are believed to have a say in the continued existence of men.
The study got participation from 425 people, including a number of poets, illustration artists and people with schizophrenia. The said report got published by an educational magazine – The Proceedings of the Royal Society. This is the first time that sexual interest proven to be connected with such line of work.

Linky

Are you creative? Does it get you laid? LOL.

i don't think that is true. my cod4 montage didn't get me laid once

but seriously, i don't think it is inherently true; maybe it applies a lot to modern western society, yes, but 500 years ago in a more scarcity driven environment the males of brawn were probably at the fore-front of ass-getting. it depends on environment and culture, is my point

I don't know about getting laid, but people seem inherently interested in knowing more about an artist when they find out him/her have a career as one. It creates easy conversation from the get go.

People in artistic occupations != "more creative you are."

The article title doesn't seem very accurate.

Not that they link to anything or have a single real quote, but they claim the author of the study attributed the results more to their lifestyle and other side affects of their occupation.

I could see this being true for musicians. They are more creative then us, there's no denying that.

I'm not too convinced that the study was rigorously scientific and controlled.

As a graphic designer, industrial designer, painter, writer, for fun producer. I can vouch for this study.

Yipes, that is a really poorly written article. The first paragraph is a mess, followed by this: "It is believed that those who are in such occupation share the hobby as those of a sick patient. Such traits recognized to be connected to the desire to have sex and are believed to have a say in the continued existence of men." Uh, what? It sounds like it was written by someone who barely spoke English.

Anyhow, the premise makes sense. Artists are more open to experience, and sexual interest, experimentation, etc. would be a part of that. They're less constrained by convention, too. I don't believe the professor's explanations are very good ones. Creative people do not always seek the spotlight and are not necessarily very social -- some are, certainly (the theatre types in particular), but many artists are introverted, with most of their interest being in the interior life, not in being on display and "hanging out with people a lot." I think it has more to do with the unconventionality and openness to experience that are part of being an artist. Artists would also be more likely to use alcohol and drugs, which would also be associated with more sex.
