These people can say what ever they want, but at the end of the day they created this cost issue. They were the ones touting the graphical jumps (both publishers and Hardware makers) they were the ones building bigger and bigger worlds. They are setting sales targets and they are the ones setting budgets.
Now they have completely ruined the industry with poorly managed games, releasing unfinished products, bringing in Microtransaction.
But they think we should pay for their s***-show.
"The console market has not grown in the last year" - but hasn't it basically exploded in recent years and is just cooling off now? I mean, I don't think it is unusual things are slowing down 4 years into a generation.
Isn't there a big base of consoles out there?
I also question "games go on sale weeks after launch". It seems like most games are the opposite. Most big launches don't see big sales for awhile. Used to be you could get the fall COD game at Christmas for $20. Not anymore, not even close. The games that discount hard are usually total flops.

All this "no exclusives" from Xbox is dumb too. If you have no exclusives why would I buy an Xbox?? I wouldn't.
Maybe your games would have done better if they were finished and not plagued by dumb decisions.
Which is BS. Would love to see the data Spencer is going off. Work with several who would be Gen Z and none of them are like this.
They own either an Xbox or PS and want to game that way. None of them care about cloud gaming.
And if that is what they want. Then the answer is a Switch like hybrid console for Xbox. Not trying to release on everything.
Or accept the boom caused by Covid is over as everyone can go out again.
And again just look at Nintendo.
Mobile seems to be on the rise with Gen Z.
Nintendo has its thing with the handheld as well on the Switch which is popular.
Both Sony and MS are rumoured to be making a native handheld so that's one way.
But yeah I agree , getting rid of exclusives is not the way to go. Just devalues your brand in gaming IMO.
