What TV show have you seen recently ? Episode one

I’ve enjoyed all this makers shows. Only one I haven’t watched is Haunting of Bly Manor, I need to get to that one.

Flanagan only wrote and directed one episode of that, and was executive producer for the series. Not as much direct involvement. I've heard it's still worth watching, it's on my list as well.

Some of his early movies are pretty awesome as well, worth checking out if you've never seen them. Oculus and Hust in particular. Recent film wise, Gerald's Game and Doctor Sleep are two of the best King adaptations ever.

I watched Blue Eye Samurai over the weekend on Netflix. I'm not normally into animated stuff, but I'm a sucker for samurai era things. Most of the episodes were very entertaining, but the last 2 or 3 really lose wind when it becomes obvious they're not going to even come close to wrapping up the story in 1 season.

I didn’t know he made Oculus and Dr Sleep. I really liked those movies.

Gen V: Episode 1 was decent.

Episode 2 just pours on the cringe. I get that it's a critique of today's influencer/media culture, but I see enough of it in real life.

Secret Invasion: surprised how much I enjoyed it.

Loki: Ending was fantastic, but I wonder what the original ending was before the rewrites.

Still semi-binging Barry.........

OH yeah. Just gets better and better. Love shows that do that.

Think I'm on the season 3 finale and then there's a season 4.........nice!

lmao they're making a Spartacus spin-off show. "Starz describes the series as “a history-bending, erotic, thrilling, roller-coaster experience” that builds on the original series, Spartacus. It will ask, “What if Ashur hadn’t died on Mount Vesuvius at the end of Spartacus: Vengeance? And what if he had been gifted the gladiator school once owned by Batiatus [John Hannah] in return for aiding the Romans in killing Spartacus and ending the slave rebellion?”"

Errr...what??

I loved Spartacus. Felt it got a bad rap. If you look beyond the admittedly over used sex, nudity, and potty mouth language, it was a great story with some great characters.

But even so, this spin off, nah. Lol. I would have been more interested in seeing a slower drama showing the lives of some of those who escaped.

I enjoyed the first 2 episodes of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters quite a bit more than I was expecting. Didn't realize Apple does this annoying weekly episode release crap too.

I found them a bit meh.

When are these people going to realise that the giant monsters are the draw not some kids daddy issues?

Squid Games game show

Didn't think I would enjoy it this much. Some contestants are way too colorful to be real people; I have to believe some of them are actors/plants.

Oh...it's out? I haven't seen advertisement for it.

Bosch Legacy (S2) - Good

Good season, but ended rather abruptly. Wonder if the strikes played a part in that? Feels like there may have been one or two episodes remaining.

I had to drop my TV provider last week because they increased the price to $150 per month for no reason. It was ridiculous enough at $90 for the garbage that's on and the outdated set top boxes I was using.

I jumped on the Peacock and Hulu BF deals and trying to find new stuff to watch. I might jump on the Paramount+ deal before it ends as well. I haven't watched anything new other than the first episode of Poker Face on Peacock. It seems like it could be interesting. Most of the other things have been reruns or stuff I missed out on in the past.

Orphan Black:Echoes - Meh!! Only managed to sit through 5 episodes.

Orphan Black was fantastic but this prequel show set like 35 years after Orphan Black is just retreading old ground in a worse way.

I've been re-watching old shows, and I re-watched the 1990s-2000s prison drama "Oz" from Hbo. It kind of got buried behind Sopranos back in the day, but is an all time classic show.

The show was really ahead of its time way back in the day in the way it deals with prison. It is 6 seasons of full hour episodes, but worth it to put the time in if you're looking for something to watch and can tolerate the old school standard def.

Up next, I try to get through and past season 2 of the Wire.
