Everyone remembers their first, right?

The first game I ever completed was Metroid (1986). I remember my sister and cousin huddled around me, looking over my shoulders as I nervously beat the Mother Brain and raced back out of the level to finally finish the game. I'll never forget that sensation of adrenaline coursing through my veins, with complete focus, and elation when I made it to the end.

What was your first?

Very good question, one I don't know the answer to. If I think back to Pong, Pacman, Pole Position, Spy Hunter, Breakout, Space Invaders, Zaxxon, Popeye, Elevator Man, Donkey Kong, etc I don't think I ever finished those games. I have been gaming since the 70's, and I am guessing I never finished a game until the original Xbox came out. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure.

The first game I finished was Kid Icarus, man was that something back in the day. My buddy and I silent, hands all sweaty on the controller as finally killed that stupid big eyed medusa thing.

I'm pretty sure I beat SMB before anything else since it was one of the first games I ever owned that actually had a definitive ending. I also loved Double Dragon on the NES. I beat that game so many times, along with Contra using the cheat code.

I think it has to be E.T. since it's one of the few 2600 games I can remember playing that had an actual "ending", though of course it wasn't much of one.

Mom's spaghetti.

I'm not sure on the first one I beat but I remember the first one I was invested in beating. It was a space strategy game called Supremacy. It was so damn hard to beat the last Faction in that it took me months and months.

Hmmmm... Sonic the Hedgehog, I think. It was one of the first games to hold my attention long enough! There were lots of games before that like Venture and Zaxxon or Qbert, but I can't say If I ever actually beat them.

I definitely remember being the only one of we three Boys to beat Gouls 'n Ghosts!

I didn't own an NES until after that, but I remember completing River City Ransom back then. Mario too, of course I had to do the 99 lives cheat to do it!

Probably Super Mario Bros. I don't think any of the Coleco or Atari games I played really ended I think they all just kept looping.

Yeah I guess I beat a round of Atari Baseball.

Otherwise, endless stages of Combat or Mountain King.

I did play a few terrible Text Adventures on the family Commodore PET lmao.

I don't have a good track record for actually beating games. I can't even think of what games I actually beat before last gen.

I'm taking a guess here. I believe it was Project FireStart for the Commodore 128.

I totally forgot about Zaxxon. I don't know how many quarters I put in that game.

The earlist games I can remember were Paper Boy and Out run on the ZX Spectrum.

1980 - Rolled the Asteroids arcade game over 999,999 (found out you had to end your game at 999,980 if you wanted to put name in as top score because your score went back to 0 after you rolled it). I guess that counts as "beating" a game.

I worked at a pizza place that had tabletop Ms Pacman and Galaga and next door to us was an ice cream shop that has Asteroids and Defender. Got really good at all of them but I don't recall "beating" the others if it was possible. Back then beating them meant rolling the score to the top limit available.

Hmm... first would've been Super Mario Bros on NES or Shadowgate, not sure, it's a bit fuzzy.
Last game was World War Z on xbox, fun game imo.
