What's a good site for breaking game news?

For the last few months, I've been visiting N4G for an overview of "breaking" game news. But I'm getting fed up with the audio advertisements that automatically play when I visit there (annoying!).

What would you recommend as a good site for catching new/breaking game news? I skim GAF, and that helps, but I'm looking for a site that is just focused on news.
 
Nothing better than GAF, for better or worse. There is no one site that does a very good job on its own. N4G is not bad though, just use Adblocker.

Would be nice to have a great site that has gaming news AND a solid forum. I am interested to hear what others recommend.

As of now, I just RSS in www.theoldreader.com (replacement essentially for Google Reader) the following sites:

usgamer.net
eurogamer.net
joystiq.com
unionvgf.com
majornelson.com
playstation.com (though I can't find an RSS for the official playstation blog)
 
I'm using Chrome with Adblock plus. Must be something awry, because I'm still getting ads at N4G, for some reason. I'll try to block them individually, see if that helps. Guess there aren't any better alternatives.

edit: I redid my Adblock settings. That may help.

I hate to say this, but GAF.

Just about every key news bite is posted there. But unfortunately you have to week through tons of trash posts and threads to find them. Probably a good chance you'll have to flip to page 2 or 3 to find it too since the forum moves so fast a good news bite may get old an hour later.

I use Chrome and Adblock too. No/very few ads from all sites. In the options, I'm just using the standard default Adblock Custom Filters and Easy List filter too. There is an Update Now button there so try that. Now I went there for the first time, there's other filters to click, which I'll try out now. One is a malware box.
 
Gaf is an abortion. I refuse to go there for any reason. I normally check sites like Joystiq, Game Informer, Gamespot, and N4G. Or, I just hear about stuff here.

Gaf is not of "one mind" like many say, it's just like any other forum. You must just take things too seriously.
 
I've only lurked at GAF. But the "one mindness" was pretty apparent from the few times I visited the site.

But it obviously is the best gaming forum for news.

Yeah, I visit GAF on a daily basis. It's such a huge forum, I'm always able to find some news I didn't know about or some topic I find interesting.

use adblock not adblock plus two different addons there from two different company's. Here is the link on chrome store.

This is not a site I visit for news on games but its great for news on the gaming industry.

I find http://www.joystiq.com/ is good too they seem to update all the damn time not just once or twice a day. it's also easy format to read all the story's and pick the ones you want.
 
I use Eurogamer And Gamespot a lot because they're fairly unbiased and often have news first by virtue of starting their day hours before we do in North America.

yeah dump the one you have and get the adlock one I got them mixed up before too. You should see way more ads blocked now.

Yipes, that's too much for me. I'm just looking for one site, not dozens.

Do you have one or two sites that you can recommend above the rest?
