Why I'm Exicted for Witcher 3 and not Final Fantasy XV

Witcher 3, no contest. I've always preferred Western RPGs to JRPGs, and the Final Fantasy series has never appealed to me. I prefer the more realistic world and adult characters of the Witcher to the sort of teeny-bop characters and histrionic drama of the FF games. I like the direction the Witcher is taking towards a more open world, whereas the last FF was apparently about as linear as it gets (didn't play it). I'm not a fan of JRPG combat, either; I much prefer the Witcher's style. So to me, there's no contest at all. FF isn't even on my radar, but Witcher 3 is one of my most anticipated games of the next year.
FFXV does look awesome, thanks for posting this thread because I've never actually seen any of that new stuff.
Between the two though, I think I might get both. If I had to pick? I already have W3 preordered.
I'm basing my next computer build on W3, pretty excited for it tbh.

The Final Fantasy games were the first series to play with my emotions on a level that elevated video games into the realm of art and stir telling. When Aeris died, I lost faith in the world. When Rhinoa sacrificed herself, I wanted to take her place.
With these games, its not purely about the gameplay, but also the emotional connection...

Witcher 3. That game just gets me man. I respect Final Fantasy, but I'm not too big on the blender of fantasy elements it's going for. CDP just makes a game I can really immerse myself in. They're the Game of Thrones in the video game world and it's hard to top that.
I'll be a Final Fantasy fan until the day i die. Way too many memories to write off the franchise like so many have. So FFXV for me.
The first Witcher game on PC when I played it back in 2010 is the game that converted me to PC from consoles.
So it goes without saying I'm freaking stoked for Witcher 3.
FFXV does look good though as I also never seen that footage before (Didn't care to follow the Tokyo Game Show). I'll get both if it comes to PC as well.

Have I missed something? There was no turn based combat in that first final fantasy video above. I thought the game looked great.
Also, big advantage, Witcher has dem big ol' bitties. With any luck, we can get a couple of matzah balls to go with the bratwurst.
I'm more hyped for The Witcher 3. I have a feeling out of the two The Witcher 3 is going to be the more memorable experience.When it comes to characters and plot I enjoyed that of W2 more than the last couple of FF's. I'd also be more excited if the cast from FFXV was more diverse. I'll probably end up buying both though.
W3 easily. Not a fair comparison though. Look at the trends between those two franchises over the years. I'd rather play one side mission of Witcher 3, then an entire FF game. However, if this is a poll half a year from now between W3 vs. Bethesda's next Fallout or ES...... sorry Witcher. You lose. 
I'm actually generally the opposite, but Witcher is just very good and W3 looks amazing.
I need my dose of Spiky hair (plus mullet?), feminine looking, emo Protagonist with suspicious fashion sense fix.

FFXV became laughing stock among gamers here in Japan.

I'd rather sit and listen to one song in a Final Fantasy game then play any of Witcher 3. But yeah, W3 looks awesome and i'm looking forward to both. There's just so many reasons why i love the FF franchise. I just can't get enough. Timeless classics. Each and every one of them. When the arguably worst FF game in the series, FF XIII is reviewed higher and sells more copies than probably 90% of the games out there that should tell you something.
Even though I'm not planing on getting either because I don't have much free time on my hands these days I just have to say that the Witcher just b*tch-slapped the poop out of FF going by the videos.
