So I picked up this game for my PS Vita after deciding to even buy a VITA to play remotely with my PS4 games. It sounded like a great idea and I was really excited with trying out KZ:SF with it. In any case, I really like the KZ series and wanted to get Mercs to go along with my collection. The first thing that grabbed me was the incredible graphics. I was in awe at how detailed the game was and so many tech features found in KZ:SF was indeed in this game. It wasn't until later that I found out that they both use the same graphics engine. Guerrella Games has a truly talented programming team. I just can't fathom how they was able to make the game look so pretty. In any case, here are some things that make this game much better than KZ:SF:

* The story is more cohesive and makes sense.
* The weapons can be chosen both PRIMARY and secondary weapons.
* You can choose your alternative weapon, armor and grenade type.
* You aren't stuck with the OWL all the time. You can choose other means of destruction.
* Has a true stealth combat system (gas grenades, tranquilizers, etc..).
* Melee combat is the best in the series -- bar none. Why didn't KZ:SF copy that system?
* Music is incredible.
* Replay missions for added game-type solutions (covert, demolition, etc..).
* MP is seamless and more enjoyable.

Some Weapons in the KZ Merc are a bit OP like the Petroside Sniper Rifle... wish there were more maps... Also I hate the Mantis Engine... other than that the MP is awesome for handheld

Metacritic backs up your opinion, Mercenary beat SF in reviews. Is it the exact same team that did SF as mercenary?

I'd be interested in seeing the melee system in action on Mercs, as I already thought Killzone had the best melee system of any FPS, especially when it comes to MP and you can save a teammate from being killed.

Reviewers rate on what a format is capable is why it could get higher scores.

The team that did KZ2's MP did KZSF's MP.... not sure about the SP.

Wow. Some of the gameplay points you made have been around since early CoD days.

Melee system in Mercs is the best of all the KZ games IMO. It's really amazing.

.

So when a cross gen game like AC4/COD gets reviews it automatically gets higher scores on current gen systems? Considering they are much less capable? Just trying to understand, never heard this before.
