In a very good condition!  Apparently someone must've dropped it by accidently. My father in law who is the mail-man just randomly drove around near the store and, literally, found this PSP system on the grass. He gave it to me and I played with it for a bit. No problem at all! It looks very new to me, lol.

I have a question, though. My wife erased everything on it in order to start over and already updated to the latest firmware. We're trying to connect it to my currently username on PS3 but couldn't. It kept saying "WLAN is turned off." Does anyone how to fix it? Or has Sony decided to cut off the online? Just wondering!

aren't you suppose to flip the WiFi switch on? Also you sure that's running on the original FW nit a nodded one?

Are you not going to make any attempt to find the owner? Let the nearby store know in case someone comes by? Check the OS for any user info? I bet some kid right now is pretty upset.

If I did, I know there'll be two or probably 5 running up to me and say "Hey it's mine!" According to my father, he says that there was no body around at the time when he found it. Not even a person in sight. So, what do you expect of him to do? Of course, it becomes his (now mine) since he found it. I remembered a story where there was a lady who found, randomly, a diamond ring that was worth more than $10,000 in a $4 used pant's pocket she bought at the store. She did not know it until she got home. She tried to ask the owner of this ring with a proof of purchase at the store and there was, literally, 10+ people came to her at once. None of them has the proof of purchase, so the ring becomes her.

You could look through the system for photos, gamesaves, or other ownership signs and let the store know if someone comes by. If someone calls you and can provide the details on the system only the true owner would know I'd say you would have done your part and if someone doesn't call in a week or so it's yours. I personally would have a hard time keeping something like that without at least making an attempt to find the owner, ymmv.

I don't mind doing that but I think it's tiny bit too late since my wife erased everything. :(

So if I find your wife walking alone with nobody around means she is all mine and you're cool with it? If that is the case what's your address and by my definition of alone is when she is 2 feet out the door and nobody is around her for a 5 foot radius.

Yeah, the person might have had personal information on there that could have helped lead you to him, or to prove it was his.
Like which games there were save files for, or names given to save files or PSN sign in info.

That wasn't very Christian of you guys to claim it as your own so quickly without exhausting the options. There are a ton of things you could have done to verify whether a claimant owned it.
In fact, it might still be possible if the kid kept the box and manual and stuff. Even if you erased save files or something, there might be un-erasable things like a serial number or MAC address, or Wi-Fi networks saved in the options. Try to find him/her!

Or you can just donate 40 bucks to a homeless person to even out that Karma crap. If it was a PS Vita I'd definitely try and reunite it with its owner but i don't think anybody would miss a PSP nowa days.

I agree it was obviously a person who lives close.

Oh I don't doubt about that. Again, as stated before, my wife erased everything before I even received this PSP system. I will ask her to see if she remembers seeing the username and, if she does, I'll find out about who's the former owner of this PSP. I'll do my best to research on that, although I cannot promise it probably will be 100% solved the problem.

That would be the Christ-like thing to do brotha ;)

Well, it looks like the person who owns it is completely lost their hope. Because I spoke with my wife and she said she did checked the owner. Oddly enough there was no username nor WiFi or anything like that on it. That person did not even put anything on it other than the name of device is "I'm a boy".

That's always random. I'd give it back to the owner if you could find out who it is. If it was me, i'd probably just give it to someone or keep it for myself just because i'm lazy lol.
