Xbox One vs. PS4: Microsoft More Profit Per Console

I don't think many non-North Americans know that Mexico is part of the North American Continent. Are you part of your countries bright future Wolf King? :tounge:
Understandable. If I remember correctly he's from the UK or there abouts and if you asked me what that included I'd just stare at you.

Someone got it. (I think)

But yeah was a time I probably counted those separately sales wise.

Um, 1 million ps4s sold in North America v 1 million xb1s sold worldwide is a bit of a difference....
Not really. That is unless you prefer to ignore the fact that both companies released their product strategically. Touting one over the other because of region is r******d Zomb. Just sayin.... They both sold well. End of story.

it's only end of story if you are too dense to see that you are wrong.

Like I stated, the ps4 has only launched in North America thus far. 3 countries gave the ps4 1 million sales. 13 countries gave the xb1 1 million sales.

This Friday the ps4 will be released in additional 29 markets.

it's r******d to claim that the ps4 isn't going to have higher sales numbers when you look at the numbers masters.

Are we going to resort to name calling now Zomb?! Gee you Sony gamers are a sensitive lot arent you?

Lets let the numbers speak for themselves before we go all Oracle with the predictions shall we?

Hi, welcome to UVGF. Here, when it comes to sales, actual sales reported by the actual manufacturers of the console are less important than peoples' opinions about the sales numbers, and "metrics" determining who was winning the opinion war amongst the early adopters is definitive of how the consoles will perform for the entire generation. As long as you can suspend your reliance on actual facts and accept this fact, you'll enjoy your time here. Otherwise, there's a very useful 'ignore' function here which I'm admittedly late to finding but now greatly enjoying.

It really depends on their production rates, not JUST how many countries they launch in.

How much they spread it out will just effect each regions reports.

Sony should easily win NPD for instance.. not only did they launch a week early, they focused their shipments where NPD tracks, and it appears they were as good as sold out for their initial shipment fairly quickly.

Both companies are probably not focused enough on one region not to sell out.. so shipped will be reported as "sold" and for the most part it will be accurate for November.

The "MS shipped to 13 countries that's why they sold 1 million" doesn't make much sense unless you believe there wasn't enough hype in NA to sell one million.. but on the flip side, doesn't make sense to predict Sony will way outsell them just because they will soon be in more regions.

Unless Sony is also producing more units than MS, they won't have overall WW shipped numbers greater than MS.

We are mostly going to hear shipment numbers from MS / Sony, and they should be relatively close judging by how each company got about the same amount of launch units produced.. one could guess both companies have a similar production capability.

But retailers are claiming that in the US units won't be in short supply for either console moving forward... so NPD post-November should be a decent gauge of how well they are doing at least in that market.

Reality, facts, and metrics are a sensitive subject on this forum. The "actual sales numbers" per region are about 500k NA to 1 mil NA, which is about what the metrics indicated. They should enjoy the next few days up to the 29th to pretend "sales parity" ever existed. PS4 has both more supply and demand. PS4 will likely sell 2:1 in most countries short term. Xb needs a price cut and more exclusives to compete.

"As long as you can suspend your reliance on actual facts" Another irony meter explosion. "Actual facts" are regional sales can't be compared to WW sales, no matter how much you desperately make false equivalencies before the 29th. Bizarro world strikes again where the posters most in denial of the facts talk about "ignoring actual facts". Once again this forum, Neowin, and misterx's blog are the few places you'll find posters like that.

Your sources are believable. LOL. But nice claims though. I see you begging to be banned again from another thread.

This is UGF not Neowin or MisterX's blog. There's no denying that X1 sold great despite the supposedly lousy PR they had and a $500 price tag.

As I said before, considering all the 3:1 and 4:1 hype for PS4, launching in the US a week early (the biggest gaming market) and 19 more countries than X1, it should theoretically be a slam dunk for 3:1, 4:1 or even a higher ratio than that. X1 has already sold 1M in 24 hrs, so by years end who knows what it will be, but the "going rate by Sony fans" is PS4 selling 3-4x times that..... not your quietly reduced 2:1 ratio you now wrote.

We'll have to see what all the sales trackers say in the coming months. 2013 is a weird comparison as there's only 5 weeks for X1 and 6 weeks for PS3 to track, as well as the big difference in countries launched, but going forward as the time period comparison smooths out as so does the countries launched, we'll all to see what the data says and not guesswork like you have been promoting.

Wow! This also happens to be a place where in order for one camp to prevail over the other, one must adhere to small intricacies and minute details in order to score meaningless victories in order to feel justified about their purchase.

In some cases with the Sony camp, it happens to be [more a case of mystified] therefore one must be justified. They remain baffled at just how the XO exceeded their doom and gloom predictions while self ensured the PS4 would dominate launch with over 1 Million sales while XO sales dwindled in comparison.

Reality can be a real bitch sometimes mate....

All I know the PS4/X1 aint going for s*** on eBay. No where PS2/Wii level I was hoping. Maybe they will near xmas, but i doubt it.

Sold listings on eBay:
$436 (w/tax) PS4 = $550~$650 shipped = about $60~$120 profits after fees and shipping costs.
$545 (w/tax) X1 = $600-$650 shipped = about $30~$60 profits after fees and shipping costs.

I honestly can't believe how well the Xbox One sold, I thought at $500 very few would buy it, but the fans are loyal. Makes you think if they could have sold it for $600.....

I think though this Holiday season we are going to see more PS3 units sold as they have a lot of AAA titles and are doing some great bundles.

Looks like either people are smarter this time around and just waiting for it at regular price at stores, or the demand just isn't there at all. Wii U preorders were sold out, yet people could find them in stores no problem and tons were returned after Xmas as hoarders refunded them.

Going by what I've seen and read, X1 and PS4 have sold much more, but if you look around you can find them. I got mine Saturday just walking into a store and asking a clerk if there were any around. Yes. A different guy asked about a PS4 ahead of me. A different clerk found one in the back room. The shelves were completely bare and I guess they hadn't bothered restocking shelves yet. People just have to ask sometimes. The units are out there.
