I am surprised the news hasn't been posted here.

Note: Only Google's Chrome Browser is able to process 60 fps videos on Youtube. IE and Firefox is limited to 30 fps.

Higher frame-rates will be a boon to anyone who wants to post footage of video games in action, particularly PC games, as many of them run at frame rates above YouTube's current 24fps frame rate. As a result, YouTube videos should give a much better sense of what the game in the video actually looks like to the person playing it.

YouTube is finally bolstering its video playback to support 60 frames-per-second.

Soon you'll be able to keep up with the buttery smooth gameplay that this latest generation of consoles frequently boasts about. "Your video game footage with crazy high frame rates will soon look as awesome on YouTube as it does when you're playing, when we launch support for 48 and even 60 frames per second in the coming months," YouTube noted on its company blog.

It further noted that some developers are previewing their 60 fps videos on the YouTube Creator Channel. This includes some footage of Visceral's upcoming cops & robbers shooter Battlefield: Hardline, along with already existing titles like Titanfall.

I heard of support coming, but I didn't realize Google meant this fast. Excited I am. Choose 720p and up for 60fps mode.

Edit: Wow. Chrome exclusivity. That ain't right.

I am not sure if it's exclusive to Chrome, but it makes sense that it works for the browser considering Youtube being a Google subsidiary.

I read that IE and Firefox has to update to HTML 5 + VP9. Only Google Chrome supports HTML 5 + VP9 at the moment.

I prefer Firefox over Google Chrome. Firefox allows for more customizations that appeal to me.

Great, use chrome for most parts

Man... To see YouTube vids with 60fps now almost freaks me out how fast it moves. I'm used to 60fps in games, but seeing it in a YouTube video has me trippin' balls.

I can't wait to watch someone's useless video of themself opening up a video game in stunning 1080p @ 60fps now. :bang:

I dare anyone now to say they can't tell the difference b/w 30fps and 60fps. It's so noticeable how more fluid and smooth the 60fps video is.

Chrome all the way! Then again, I don't care for customizing much. And I don't really care for browser extensions. All I care for is Adblocker and a Translating add-on. And both browsers have equally good ones.

But Chrome just seems faster for me.
