COSMOPOLIS 8/10
Weirdly intriguing movie more character driven than plot driven. It's main character Eric Packer is only 28 but commands billions of investment dollars.
In a way, this may be the slowest ever Road Trip movie, as Packer's Limousine creeps through city traffic, encountering a variety of characters along the way.
I guess to me, this movie is interesting because it captures mood of the economy in an artistic way, and kind of shows that even Packer doesn't understand it or even himself. It is also superbly directed with great attention to lighting and color and Packer's Limo interior is a great movie set in itself.
The finale scene was also very different between Packer and the would-be killer Benno. I think both characters feel desperately self-destructive and hoped they could find answers from each other.
