What movies have you seen recently?

This is the End - 6.5/10

Ehhh......look it is cool to see all those people in the same movie, but I really didn't find anything funny, maybe laughed once or twice during the entire movie (oddly enough the Michael Cera parts). It wasn't a "bad" movie per se, it just wasn't humorous to me.

This Is The End
8.5

Loved it, if you dug Pineapple Express you probably will too.

Iron Man 3 - 6/10 rented it on Blu Ray. Its a mixed bag. After the great movie that was The Avengers this is the best they could come up with. A little better than IM2 but not by much. Hope the new Thor and Cap movies are better.

V/H/S 2 - not sure what rate it since its a couple shorts. I think i liked the first V/H/S more. The zombie vid was cool and the cult vid is crazy as hell. Decent for horror fans worth a rent i guess.

Room 237, documentary about hidden meanings in The Shining (film). It's interesting how many consistent hidden items in the background Kubrick put into the movie along with all the ideas of what the real theme is. Things like the Holocaust, the wars and tragedies involving Native Americans, and even a theory that Stanley Kubrick headed the project of faking the moon landing. Some crazy stuff, but it's a very good watch and at the very least puts a new light on a old classic. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys peeling away at a movie, but I gotta say, these guys put me to shame. Some of the things they notice are just amazing in terms of what's actually there.

8 1/2 - 9.5/10 Don't know what took me so long to finally watch this. Loved it, can see myself watching this again many times as it really stimulates the mind, there's so much to contemplate and interpret.

I don't watch many films but when I do they're s***

Now You See Me urgh

Gonna watch Oblivion soon, I loved the game but we'll see...

The Conjuring. It's probably one of the best haunting films I've seen in some time. It really builds up the suspense through great pacing and structuring. The characters fit well inside the story too. Granted it probably won't win any awards but if your looking for a classic type of horrific storytelling in the vein of The Exorcist, The Shinning or something like that, you can't go wrong with this picture.

8/10

what keeps me from seeing this movie is that for the most part, all of these guys have spent their entire acting careers basically playing themselves. The writing would have to be really strong

Death Proof - 7/10

As much stick as this movie gets, it is IMO one of Tarantino's best.

Unforgiven - I saw this when it came out, and this is the first rewatch since. I had forgotten how beautiful of a film it was. It's also quite enjoyable even for people who don't usually like westerns.
Clint's age is perfect in this, he's not as decrepit looking as he is now, but has enough wrinkles to be part of the scenery. I love when Gene Hackman is bullying him in the saloon and he flashes him the crazy Eastwood stare for a split secondlike he's going to jump up and bite his face off.

its one of my all time top 10 movies. Easily Eastwood's swan song.

7/10 for one of his best? Not much of a fan?

7/10 is very good. Only reason it didn't get a little higher was I did not like the deliberate old movie style film effects.

I'm actually a big fan of his. Love Pulp Fiction, Inglorious bastards, Reservoir dogs, Django Unchained, and Dusk till dawn, which he did the screen play for.

Yeah I think Death Proof is the only movie of his I didn't like all that much. Had lots of good points though. Wasn't a huge fan of Django either.

@menace-uk- if 7/10 is very good what would you rate a 9 or a 10?
