Playstation Experience Dec. 6 - 7 Official Thread

Here is some pictures I found, ok, unfortunately not the best quality to be fair. But I did not pick the dull cave, but the better dense vegetation part.

This one does looks really good though, very dense.

At highest LOD, the face do looks good!, but the environment though good, is not extraordinary is it?

Those are terrible shots. Is that even UC4 ?

Any way, going by these and the trailer it looks nice.

I think that the environments in UC4 and Dragon Age are highly stylized and are not going for a photorealistic look. So if you prefer one over the other it's certainly a subjective preference. I prefer UC4 from what I've seen but DA is a damn good looking game too.

I haven't played DA tbh.
Thats agreeable. I am just sad that we cannot express honest but maybe unpopular opinions without risk of getting attacked. In fact I have often wrote many posts but in the end decided not to post as I it will be unpopular, & I may be end of a abusive reply, while I got a few in the past, usually saying I am dumb or fanboy (of xbox of Sony). People just seem offended easily if you do not agree with their views.

These are better shots. The foliage moving is nice touch. maybe saying DA looks better is unfair, as I played 33 hours of DA, & only seen the trailer of UC4. Part of DA visuals isn't about technical capability but the art direction & vista.

Still, I do not think its jaw dropping. Its great, to be clear, but I do not see it as clearly better than games already out.

Jaw dropping, no. It does look nice though and they still have what... a year ? of dev time.

Starseeker., I don't think you're a contrarian like a few other on here seem to be.

Don't sweat it. Express your opinion.

I think maybe expectations were too high which always happens.

But I personally am impressed. So much detail with no technical artifacting. No pop in, fade in or funky shadows that I could see.

Thats all I want from these consoles. Polished (and fun) design that captures the original concept art.

Of course, it can look better. I can only comment on what I seen.
See, you are doing it wrong. You do not comment on what you see, your eyes lie. You have to use your imagination and pull things out your arse. That is how forum winning is done.

Ygrin:

uncharted doesnt look all that great really, maybe cause uncharted last generation looked so goood.
i have to wonder if some people even bother to open there eyes if they consider this Uncharted as "doesn't look all that great really"..

it looks frigging stunning.

You expressed your opinion and I expressed mine, that yours was really dumb. Get over it, it wasn't a personal attack.

But really, I can see maybe saying you like DA:I's art style better, but to say it has better graphics than this is just factually false on all technical levels.

Cole's notes for those who missed the keynote:

http://www.engadget.com/2014/12/06/playstation-experience-2014-roundup/

Sony just held the keynote for its first-ever PlayStation Experience fan event, and the company didn't hold back on game previews -- it showed dozens of titles that will be hitting the PS3, PS4 and PS Vita in the months ahead. Did you miss out on the whole shebang? Don't worry. We've rounded up all the games that got a showing at the Las Vegas event, ranging from blockbuster sequels like Uncharted 4 and Street Fighter V to eyebrow-raising originals like Wattam. If you're ready to start watching a ton of trailers, grab some popcorn and check out the full game list below.

what a lineup

I do have to agree with Flynn (& I do not often agreed with him) that Uncharted 4 gameplay shown is a clear visual downgrade, but I was totally expecting that. Actually it isn't a downgrade as the reveal trailer wasn't real time (& I do not mean non gameplay, because you can have real time cinematic as well), something that Flynn spotted from developers (particularly the lady that used to work for Bungie) careful choice of words.

In fact I think Dragon age, despite a cross gen game, has better lightings outdoor. The lighting feels flat in Uncharted 4. Thats the technical part.

Things could change as the game get further in development, but I would be surpise if they are satified with the current level of visual fidelity.

However, I have to say the blending between combat & platforming is sweet. I will probably picked this next holidays (or later), pending what's available then.
You do know...anytime a camera zooms out you see less details.
When the camera zooms in its very comparable to the zoomed in footage shown before.

I want clear uncompressed 1080p footage that I am hoping Gamersyde has it.

Agreed but the lighting does look like it hasn't been worked on yet.
Only a fool would think ND won't improve on it.

Solid stuff. Really looking forward to The Order, UC4, and Bloodborne.

Just watched the gameplay footage for Uncharted. Looks awesome.

According to Sony the PlayStation Experience is now an annual occurrence. Sony's looking pretty healthy right about now.

I love DA:I and have about 65 hours put into it so far, that said UC4 looks leagues better IMO, the textures are much better, there is just a much higher level of fidelity with everything. I honestly think it's a night and day difference in the level of quality, especially when you look at the high quality gamersyde footage. That's not to say that DA:I looks bad at all because it's beautiful in it's own way too and I can't say you are wrong since you are just voicing your opinion and mine is no more valid than yours.

Yeah the links to those pics even said UC3 so he made a mistake, it's obvious that it's not the same game. The stuff you posted looked great though.

Its not going to matter, UC4 isn't finished, lets judge it later.

we still have a year to go. have Flynn tell it, the game is about to launch tomorrow. I personally believes that Flynn lets his overwhelming bias cloud his judgement far too often.

I totally agree with you.

the graphical leap this generation of console is being underestimated, but its going to take time for many to see this.

What was the "secret mystery game" announced at 4:00? I missed it.
