Playstation Experience Dec. 6 - 7 Official Thread

Is UC4 open world ?

It doesn't really matter if you're just talking about the graphics. Everyone knows an open world will have compromises in graphical quality and that's why it is very rare for an open world game to have the best looking graphics, although it may be very impressive on a technical scale.

Nope but I wasn't the one that brought up the comparison between the two either. As I said before I think DA looks good even though it's uneven I just don't think it comes anywhere near the level of fidelity that UC4 does. I'd also say that even though DA is "open world" it's still sparsely populated without much actually going on most of the time and has some issues that I would have hoped would have been eliminated like areas within the hubs that still have to load before you can enter them etc.

Again they are two totally different types of games and nobody should expect a more open game that's cross gen to have the same quality of graphics as a more linear new gen only title but again I wasn't the one that brought the comparison up.

That was not why I asked. I was just curious. The footage we saw left me a little unsure.

i have to wonder if some people even bother to open there eyes if they consider this Uncharted as "doesn't look all that great really"..

it looks frigging stunning.

I think it's more of a kind of "over-correction", where many people are going what I see as overboard with the verbal ejaculation. It's fine, as it is a good thing to be enthusiastic, but I also find the praise a teenie bit hyperbolic. It looks fantastic, but not on another level, which I honestly was expecting. I don't think it lives up to the original trailer, but games never do.

I think games are getting so good looking, that to stand out as immensely impressive will be kinda moot. The only game that burns out my eyes is the Order, but I still quite enjoy looking at plenty of other games.

Is there a good 60p video of Uncharted somewhere. All I have found on the internet are failed captures of the gameplay demo.

Okay, just finished watching the PS Experience in full and it was awesome. What a show. The PS4 has an amazing year ahead of it.

So did we get any big reveals on the last day of the event?

Nope. Not that I can see. It seems all the reveals were in the keynote show. None of which I would say were "Big." Street Fighter was decent though.

Does anyone know what happened with Sony's Kill Strain? It sounds like it might have been a Sony MOBA type game but I can't find any impressions or video of it despite them saying it was playable on the show floor at PSX.

36 minutes of off-screen The Order footage...looks better than what they had been showing:

Not much, and s*** quality, but took only 2 seconds to find. Should be more out there.

This looks exactly like my type of game. Thanks for finding that. I tried googling it but nothing came up.

Now let's hope it's actually good.

When looking for videos I find going straight to youtube is your best bet.

As for the footage and description of the game I know it is not for me. I am not a fan of these top down games or the MOBA genre.

Lol, Video Removed! We don't want people to see footage that may improve the perception of our game! Never mind it's been shown to and played by the Gaming media!

Damn! I forgot all about these. Will definitely have to fit a couple in tomorrow.
I am really interested in the Virtual reality panel. The story telling in video games could be interesting as well.

Until Dawn isn't my kind of game although I may give it a shot if the reviews are ok just to experience the horror element. I think the crowd yelling and cheering made the demo seem fun though.

It just look like a typical crappy teen horror flick to me. If you are in to that sort of thing, this likely looks awesome.

As for Morpheus, I really want it in racing games like Project Cars. It would also be awesome in No mans Sky.
I hope that MS rumour of VR is true and hits in 2015, and is compatible with the inevitable Forza 6 in 2015.

How many people will try to look up her towel:laugh:

that's pretty funny, but I don't think it works that way. I mean, YOU are the character. YOU would be looking through HER eyes, which automatically places YOU in virtual reality. i'm sure you played a lot of games where it has an option to play in 1st person or 3rd person, right? its the same concept here except for it being mandatory for virtual reality.

Oh, I know, but that is what makes the idea funny.

actually, it looks like Heavy Rain and Beyond, which were really great titles. the thing with virtual reality is, if someone can find something as simple as a roller coaster ride thrilling with there being no objective at all, I think anything tied to virtual reality will simply amplify any experience to the one using it. I think you are focused to much on your tv giving you the typical experience rather than you having a natural experience.

as far as MS, the last time i heard, it was an AR head mount. something like Google glass, rather than VR. and I think it makes much sense with Room Alive and all. perhaps this may change in the future, but i'm having trouble figuring out exactly how they plan to package and sell a VR head mount and Kinect as one unit given their hefty price tags while still remaining competitive.

I do not disagree, but I do not enjoy the teen-horror flick experience. VR or not I am simply not interested.

The latest description of the device called it, "Enhanced Reality" That could be VR, AR, combo of both, or something entirely different. Hope it is VR cause augmented reality does not excite me as much.
