If people keep claiming XB1/PS4 will reach 360/PS3 levels of parity, I'll keep correcting them (based on the known specs).;)

"Yep, that greater GPGPU should help." Actually Resogun uses GPGPU pretty heavily, and it's a launch title.
Reach? That difference is already smaller than it was at the start of next gen...if you think it will widen then I have a bridge to sell you. Specs mean squat, it's the games that matter.

Sorry guys, I promised myself that I will make no more comments on the resolution, but this is not good news not matter how you spin it. 2 major developers already have their game running at lower resolution on the xbox one. Maybe you cannot see the differences, but you cannot deny a significant power difference (at least what the developers can extract from xbox vs PS4), as the amount of horsepower to run at 1080p is significantly more than 720p. I do not mind if PS4 is more powerful, like say 10, 15%, but 720p vs 1080p, while subjective visually, is massive as far as performance.

If there is a good reason that its will only happen to launch windows games, MS need to address to people.

As an xbox supporter for over a decade, I feel sad. They have the chance to bite the bullet & upgrade their spec, but they choose not to, if not we will not even have this discussion today.

Let hope there is some convincing reply from MS.

The hardware is a tool, used to generate images and algorithms to make gameplay. The problem is some tools think that these tools are more important than the games, as if the size of their tools measured the size of their tools.

Latest Ryse vid on gamersyde shows combat models are obviously lower quality than cutscene models, as expected. Especially the random barbarians that you dispatch. Yes the cutscenes look great, and they did a great job with the mocap, but don't expect that to extend perfectly into actual gameplay.

I see people are still repeating the discredited and inaccurate Digital Foundry footage that they already admitted was botched. Here is some contrast/color/sharpness accurate footage of Xbox One MULTIPLAYER, not single player. As expected, it looks worse and has a worse framerate compared to single player.

If devs had more time to work on CoD it would be 900p, but probably not 1080p. Although CoD is a pretty low tech next gen game, so it's not out of the question. Even after devs get a handle on the ESRAM (edit, made a mistake), there's still a ~50% GPU power gap along with faster unified memory and greater GPGPU. It won't ever reach the near-parity of 360/PS3. Just the facts.

As far as the power gap being important or not, or whether people should just get a PC: PS4 offers the best price/performance of the three. That's a pretty compelling reason if you want to play multiplat games like BF4.

Not a surprise that the real industry insiders and people who understood the tech specs have been right.

This IS however the co-op/MP mode. It's possible the characters in singleplayer look better. Although I have no complaints, I find that the enemies look detailed enough there. As for BF4. I recall a BF4 X1 and PS4 comparison video where the framerate on both versions was pretty bad, compared to footage from Gamespot for example. I highly highly doubt the fps is less on X1, it was said to be both 60fps. November 1 we'll see the X1 multiplayer.

? I don't understand the last part.

I guess the X1 is pretty big afterall ;)

A giant Xbox One has appeared on the streets of Vancouver.

The replica of the entertainment console looms at the corner of Nelson and Seymour treets. It’s about 40 feet long and 20 feet wide.

Now we know what the enticing video that’s been playing on the Xbox 360 dashboard for the past week has been teasing.

Xbox Canada representatives told the Straight that the massive Xbox One model will “unlock” when enough fans pledge their gamertag.

Members of the Xbox community can pledge their gamertags in person at the giant Xbox One, online, or from the dashboard on their Xbox 360. Doing so also makes them eligible to win digital rewards. Prizes include Xbox One consoles and trips to Toronto for the Canadian launch of the new system.

What, exactly, will occur when the box unlocks is unknown. But you should expect it to be something special.

This national campaign from Microsoft Canada is called “One Source”, which refers to the idea that the Xbox One entertainment console is a single device for games and entertainment.

The giant replica Xbox One departs Vancouver at the end of the week for other Canadian destinations. Exact locations have not been announced, so fans in other parts of the country will have to keep their eyes open.

The Xbox One, priced at $499.99, releases on November 22.

It's negative news, sure. That's more than fair. It's the "turning negative opinion into fact" statements like "hopefully they can make the XB1 look stronger than it really is" or "we've yet to really see gameplay regardless of what devs say" is horsecrap. You're allowed to have whatever opinion you want, and express whatever opinion you want within the limits of the site. What you can't do is declare your opinion to be settled fact. I don't have a problem with you or anyone being disappointed with COD or BF - I don't like the news but I don't care about those games anyhow. But at least try to stop elevating negative opinions to the role of facts.

Got a link to gameplay of quantum break? I need proof before I can believe something is real. Sorry but I'm done just blindly following whatever MS and it's partners tell me.

I'm anxiously waiting Major Nelsons investigation into what the Xbox One can do with mp3 and DLNA.

Hopefully I can still access my music and videos on my PC over wifi network.

LOL at how some are desperately clinging to the
'tvs not having their proper color saturation' excuse when the BF4 comparions were made. Sony's been exposed. Got caught with their pants down
and here comes the excuses! :hehe::laugh:

I admit, I'm certain I would be having a chuckle if roles were reversed and this was an issue on PS4. I just can't for the life of me understand the over the top ranting and trolling coming from many on the other side.

It would appear that the one thing Xbox fans have that Sony fans don't... is class. Having played many games on Live with a headset, many of you know how ridiculous that statement sounds, but it seems to be true.

Trust me, I know there are plenty on the Xbox side who need to brush up on their people skills, but the Sony camp sure has made quite a statement lately.

guess I'm a fanboy then because 720 is garbage and i'm not happy with it. The xb1 hardware is a lot weaker and cost 100$ more, and I think people have a right to not be happy about it. You all keep trying to use bf4 as some type of argument but fact of the matter is everyone who has played it has said that the ps4 version looked and ran noticeably better. Even in the DF article the words were clear as day that the ps4 version was better.

I'm hoping it is just immature dev tools because I really don't want to believe MS drop the ball so badly. Maybe 6 months from now things will be different.
f*** sakes mate! Do you ever quit with this crap?

I feel bad for anyone that let's this decide which console to buy. First off we are debating the graphics in a game that is the cliche of the FPS genre. Second let's compare a game like BF4 or ACIV that have more reactive and dynamic environments in it. All the talk about BF4 looking better on X1 yesterday has been drowned out by the rabid fanboys declaring a victory yet again in Sony's favor. It's just sickening.

I do kinda wonder though, if the roles were reversed and it was PS4 (temporarily) getting some games in 720p and not 900 and 1080p, would we,the people that prefer Xbox totally trash the PS4? Thinking back to when PS3 was about to come out, I don't recall Xbox fans being as pathetic and ridiculous in trashing it. It kinda would have been more deserving though, Sony with their arrogance back then with ''next-gen starts until we say so'' lmao. Not necessarily talking about this forum, some posters I guess ,but also on several other forums.

I personally never trashed any console for having worse looking games. I did buy the better version most of the time though. I personally don't think this crap matters as much as people will have you believe.

What do you call someone who donsnt want a PS4 just because its a PlayStation. Ever since Dreamcast remote fit snuggly into my hands I have had a dislike for the PlayStation. Don't know why. Maybe I'm not a fanboy. Xbox 1 rules.

You have a preference. I'm sure most people do.

You mean all those issues the PS3 versin had?

A lot of people in the states are going to get Battlefield on PS4 mainly due to it launching before Xbox One. However, I foresee the opposite in the EU as Xbox One releases first there. There really isn't too much of a difference between both versions and they both have their flaws in my opinion.

Of course people are entitled to their opinions and not everyone will agree. However, it is one thing to have an opinion and express it. It is another to consistently spam that opinion over and over again to an audience that has quite obviously let you know that they don't care about that opinion. Additionally, there are those who like to accuse people not concerned about resolutions or "powah" as blindly following MS and it is very condescending. I will follow the games and the experience, something Sony, in my opinion, has not delivered on. There is no blindly following to it; I honestly can't understand why someone would purchase a PS4 at launch in light of a lack of compelling exclusive content, other than brand loyalty. Now tell me who is "blindly" following.

I don't get people. As of this moment in time, I do not have any interest in what Sony has on offer. As such, I don't spend any time on Sony websites, forums, etc. I don't go to their "gathering places" and bash their console of choice or make fun of their preferences. My total time involved with Sony related discussions for next gen is probably inside 30 minutes. Why rain on the other party's parade? Why begrudge them of their enjoyment, in their community at that? Is there really so little to talk about or be excited about in that community that they need to come here and troll?
