That guy is terrible though. Or he's trying to be funny.
The games are challenging. But not like that dude makes it seem.
He might stink. I might stink, too.
Are you picking this up? I'd be curious what your opinion is, once you do. A bunch of reviewers have commented on the difficulty, and the GAF thread is full of people pulling their hair out over certain levels (mostly in Crash 1, I believe). That made me decide to wait for a price drop. I'll play Yakuza first. I'll sock bad guys and then disco dance while others are working on their jump timing.
I remember finding that sort of thing frustrating, 15-20 years ago and deciding I didn't like platformers. All those deaths from minor mis-timings, all that punishment for little mistakes. Getting reset and having to do it over and over again until you got it just right. Maybe I stunk. That is quite possible. But I'd always reach a point where the game was more frustrating than fun.
Will make a good bundle this holiday.
I already posted this in the Sales thread, but I'll mention it here, too: Crash is #1 in the UK and has taken the top spot for most first-week sales for any exclusive game this year, edging out Horizon Zero Dawn. It's the first time any Crash game has ever placed #1 in the UK.
Since it seems to be selling well, people are moving on to discussing what sort of other revivals we might expect. An interview with the CEO of Activision* indicates they are aware of the "passion" people have for Crash, and they want to continue to keep that fanbase happy with more content.
The #1 request of that fanbase, as far as I can tell, is a remaster/remake of Crash Team Racing. I agree, that would be pretty cool. We don't have any kart racers anymore (apart from Mario Kart, of course).

I said before that if they remaster Crash Team Racing I'm going to re buy a PS4.
Hands down I have some of the most fond moments of my early to late teens growing up playing that game. I would re buy a PS4 JUST for that remake. Sold my old PS4 to my nephew.
I hear anecdotal reports of people buying a PS4 just to play this Crash trilogy. It's surprising that a remake of a 20 year old game would be a system seller, but nostalgia is powerful, and a lot of people have fond memories of Crash.
Sounds to me like a CTR remake is a good bet. They could either do a straight remaster or else do a remake/re-imagining, with updated mechanics and options. I'm sure the fans would want the former, and so that's probably what they'll go with. But I can't help thinking that a fully revamped CTR could rival Mario Kart.
Will make a good bundle this holiday.
