Xbox One X

Yeah 4K in every game next gen still won't be possible. Some of you guys need to Google 4K capable PC gpus and consider the power and cost differences.

Not only that but even a 1080ti can't do 4K all the time unless you drop settings and the power difference between that card and the console equivalent is generational.

Remember, a lot of these games that are "enhanced" are still running at Xbox One graphical settings just uprezzed, some minor graphical improvements to some titles.

Correct. Nobody claimed the entire list was 4K. It's a list of all of X enhanced games. Only the ones that say 4K after should be 4K. I just thought it was relevant since it's a new list, and I just ran across it moments after a similar discussion here.

I feel like Windows Central is pretty reliable, but feel free to correct anything that says 4K, that you think runs at a different resolution.
Not all the ones that say 4k are is what I'm saying.

Horizon 3, my fav racing game of all time (PGR3 too maybe)... with this update...

1800p still makes a huge improvement on a 4k tv

doesnt have to be true 4k. 1440p and 1080p is not good enough on 4k set!

it's really quite simple and while you might like to pick numbers out of the air to try and fit your misguided argument. the fact remains.
Xone is certainly not giving me "True 4k gaming without compromise" as promised by MS

Its got more true 4k games than not and in some cases it's down to the devs rather than the console.

its got plenty great 4k games, but having more does not = "True 4k gaming without compromise" as promised by MS

By definition, the X is accomplishing more 4K games than any other console on the market. That is a 4K machine - especially when the competition can't deliver it. You set the standard. X, does that.
and yet it's not delivering on the PROMISE of "True 4k gaming without compromise". doesn't matter how YOU try to spin it to suit your narrative. it is simply not "True 4k gaming without compromise" as promised by MS.

30fps is a compromise, games running less than 4k is a compromise. end of.

to finish, this i would say.
valiant attempts to update lots of games for the X and i understand that devs may be doing what they can with the little time they've had to get used to the system.
but MS needed to show more than Forza 7 and Super Lucky's Tale as a benchmark for the X.

Sadly, no console or PC is giving me True 4K gaming with 60 fps without compromise.

Exactly, but let's remember, doesn't matter how good the games look and how much more powerful the system is, it isn't a "true" 4k experience. Just like the good ole day arguments of what constitutes HD. Some said 720p, some said 1080 is the only "true" HD.. 900p, etc.. just don't cut it.

No matter what MS does, there will be no quarter given on their specs and performance no matter how much more the console outperforms the closest competitor.

So are you not satisfied overall with your purchase?

I'd say that I'm much more happy with the X than my Pro, as far as enhancements go.

BTW I saw you or your Drivitar on FH3 last night.

^lots of good stuff in that video. They pushed the Xbox One S version of the game to Native 4K and were only at 75% GPU utilization on the X, there are lots of addional enhancements beyond the resolution bump that they talk about in the video, enhanced LODs, 16xAF, 4K shadow res, etc. That is the only game on any console running at native 4K, 3840x2160 WITH 4xMSAA.

The power is indeed there to do 4K native - its up to devs to how they want to distribute that power. Nonetheless, there are more 4K games on the X than any other console in the world today. It is as close to a true 4K machine than anything else out there - that's undisputed. We're not talking about what's coming, we're talking about now. Thus, it is a 4K console.

Still talking about this? Every time I check the Xbox X thread, I hope for something new, but it's always a variation on the old. You guys need a new game to focus on or something. Get you out of your rut.

Someone can't get over marketing exaggerations.

“Without compromises” was false. It’s a lie. It’s not even possible. There will always be compromises. Resources are finite. No matter how you cut the pie, not everyone can eat the biggest piece at the same time.

Ok does that settle it? Can we bury it? Debating old marketing is boring. Debating pixels vs the PlayStation is as boring now as it was in 2013. Debating whether or not you can build a comparable PC for $500 is boring.

I like the X because I like playing in the Xbox ecosystem and this is the best way to play in that ecosystem.

New topic...The updates resulted in me bringing Witcher 3, Dishonored 2 and Forza Horizon 3 out of retirement and for some reason all those games have clicked more this time around. Specifically Dishonored and Witcher were games where I believe the muddy textures and poor IQ on the OG Xbox really did bother me. Forza was always good looking but I never gave it a real chance. The update encouraged me to at least look at it on the Oled and it’s finally clicked for me. I’m finally buying into Playgrounds gameplay loop and these all terrain races.

The crisp image quality also brought Evil Within 2 to life. That’s a game that definitely wouldn’t have the impact it’s having with muddy textures.

Anyone else have old stuff in their backlog not only come back to life but hook them in a way they didn’t originally?

s*** was announced over a year and a half ago; he'll still be arguing that point at this upcoming E3, two years later, no doubt about it.

That's end-game next level troll stuff. Ignore it/report it.

Gears 4 for me bigtime. The game is just stunning now. The art just pops off the screen.

Not only that but Microsoft kind of backed off of the "No Compromises" talk before the thing even launched.

If you're any kind of informed gamer you should have had a pretty good idea what the systems capabilities were.

I was pleasantly surprised that even unpatched games can see improvements in different ways.

Getting games to run at 4K is not the problem. It's what the developers decide to do with the hardware that determines resolution, frame rate, lighting, textures, etc. and how talented their programmers are.

It's important to note that many of these games were developed pre-XBOX ONE X. More power will be squeezed out of the hardware as developers get to know the system.
