I'm being neither. I just don't think you can answer without it coming back to Jim Ryan saying hack and slashers don't sell anymore and Barlogs pitch was to make it like the last of us with an axe. Its now about the narrative..cut scenes.

Jim's pretty high up at SIE and he just called classic gow something that "acutely under performs"....why would he greenlight another.

Multi-platform comparison threads don't last cause XB always loses.

NEVER will bet NPD..I bet WW as that is what actually counts.
If RDR 2 ends up with the most awards or not we know GOW will get a few and no Xbox exclusive is even in the running.

GOW is a TLOU clone? LOL SOT is a Fable clone with way worse review scores.

He's the same one that kept saying Sucker Punch was in trouble because they had some layoffs during a time in development when a whole team wasn't needed. He completely ignored the fact that they got a brand new mo-cap studio etc during that time because it didn't fit his narrative of them about to be closed because he thinks infamous second son sold poorly even though it did better than infamous 2. He totally ignores the fact that launch window games don't generally sell as well as big games released in later years simply because the installed base isn't there. He thinks a studio needs to churn out a game every two or three years or it's a sign that a game is in development hell. I have him on ignore for a reason and I would suggest everyone else do the same :) It's one thing to have differing opinions but he's just a troll who makes crap up.

Launch window? Titanfall did ok. So did Zelda. I 'predict' Titanfall 3 will launch in 2019. Infamous 4 not so much.

Yep. I do. At least im consistant. In the E3 thread i said if there wasn't a Halo game released this year there was a serious management problem at 343. I don't think anyone wants a Mass Effect Andromeda situation, which is what you get when you're taking 5 years on a 3 year game.

Never said Dreams was cancelled. I said Media Molecule wouldn't be likely to survive an 8 year development time.

Well 5 years is a long ass dev time. Its a very bad time IMO if you're trying to argue 1800 days is quick. Thats a generation in old money.

But Uncharted is dead....or did they announce another?

They said Tearaway was made by only 15 people and the main team was working on the other project
They debuted the game in 2013 before the PS4 had form.
They named the project in 2015 and promised a beta in 2016 which didn't materialise.
Dreams has a 2018 release date. So presumably as the date is still a mystery, its after Spiderman. October is out of the question for obvious reasons so best bet is November.
That is a staggering 94 months. 2800+ days between games or 2 months shy of 8 years.

IMO Anything else gunning for GotY this year isn't really a serious competitor. Same as last year with BotW. If any game this year wants to be GotY the only real chance is Red Dead is delayed to 2019...it won't. I think. I hope.

Dealing in facts though. Sub native 4k will never be equal to native 4k. So those games are not eligible for submission.

Besides which a 30fps god of war as a graphical showcase is an oxymoron. God of War 3 remastered is better.
