I had no idea why MGS V was so lauded. That first hour was a ridiculous, slow trip through gaming hell, imo. I didn't think I could roll my eyes any more than that. Granted, maybe it gets better, but that whole first scene turned me way off. I've always like Splinter Cell better.
That said, I am intrigued by Death Stranding. It is certainly different, and like all of these Sony first party games, has great sense of place, and i like that.
I will say that outside of presentation, I'm not seeing much genre pushing or sandboxy gameplay. The Spiderman clip actually diminished my interest somewhat, as I was just getting strong batman vibes.
It comes down to preference, of course, but my favorites of the (E3) show so far are Rage 2, Beyond Good and Evil 2, and Just Cause 4, lol. All open worldy gameplay sandboxes. And Cyber Punk. .. Also some of those indies like that Halibut game
I gave it a B- because TLOU is looking slick and Death Stranding is still intriguing. I should drop it some for that awful format... I had to put the kids to bed so I don't know if they showed Dreams outside of that quick clip...
Ghost of T had some cool imagery and music, but was a bit stiff. Of the Samuri games at E3, the From Software game looks much more fun to play with some interesting combat, though its production values aren't as good.
