Like I’ve said, GordoSan and I both watched the E3 demo being played live.
The graphics looked a bit meh compared to the trailer, which was a little surprising. However, during combat (which is very similar to Batman in how it moves), it seemed to look a lot better. It was a little like when you run in Gears; it suddenly looks like it’s from a movie. So I think only certain parts may appear ‘downgraded.’
Either way, the demo and the game looked like a lot of fun. I’ll pick it up during a Black Friday sale most likely.
Visuals are great but the first gaming system I owned had black and white Pong. So they don’t really make or break a game for me.
I just hope it’s more action than cutscenes. I’m finally finishing UC4, and I love it with the exception that it’s like content-wise the cutscenes>>gameplay.
I know people who were there and saw it and played it and said it looked great, we all have a bias that can creep into our perception of things though. I think that was the first time anyone saw that particular time of day setting so yeah of course it's going to look a little different than it did before, I have yet to see any footage that looks "meh" The open world gameplay looks great, everything is sharp and clear, it runs smoothly, animates nicely and pop in is hard to spot which is extremely rare for an open world game, especially one that allows such an elevated view of the city.
As far as UC4 the graphics during gameplay are awesome, yeah when the camera is pulled back in the outdoor action scenes some little details are lost because you can't focus on them anymore but that goes for any game.
