I went 8.5. I can't add much to what you have, agree with all of the above.I gave it an 8.0. 2 points off for sub-optimal hardware.
+ some of the games look as good (to me) as any 4K game I've seen, e.g., Horizon.
+ hardware is a decent step up from the base PS4
+ improves PSVR
+ great exclusives (can't leave this out)
- weak compared to the X -- half the pixel-pushing power
- no 4K BluRay player
- Usually can't do 4K
- Can't take full advantage of my 4K TV

Seems like two or three in your minus column are basically the same thing
- cheaper than Xbox One X
That's a positive, no?
I forgot to mention that, in my list. $100 cheaper is not insignificant.
I have found installs on my Pro and X to to identical.Yeah, there is some repetition there, but I'm looking at the same thing from different angles. For instance, "Usually can't do 4K" is a reference to the games themselves, whereas "Can't take advantage of my 4K TV" is more about the value I am getting out of my TV purchase.
I'll add a few more minuses:
- Sub-par construction that resulted in all the complaints about noise level. It's not something I have had a problem with, but loads of people have. Makes it look sort of half-assed.
- It doesn't do much to upgrade performance of old games, especially in comparison to the X.
- No backwards compatibility.
- It doesn't look as good, aesthetically, as either the original PS4 or the X.
I'll add a positive, too, though, which you reminded me of:
+ installation times are much better than X.
It's really the games that make it, for me. I've got nothing to complain about there. Like I've said before, I subsisted almost entirely on PS4 exclusives from 2016 through mid-2018, two and a half years. They have had a ton of great exclusives this generation, and that's why I've been a Sony guy almost the whole time. MS doesn't stack up at all, in that regard (at least in my opinion). My usual attitude is "It's all about the games." But for the purposes of this poll, it's more about the console itself, the hardware.
Pro is not worth $400 these days. You left out the rest of that which was me saying "you get what you pay for"

The fan noise thing seems to be blown out of proportion, mine has only ever been loud in the God of War menu and a couple of other game menus, strangely that's when my One X makes the most noise as well, in menu screens, other than that I never really hear it.
One thing I think is wrong in this thread is those of us who own both machines are rating the PS4 Pro by comparing it to the One X which doesn't seem fair to either machine (and we've all pretty much done it) How good the experience is on one doesn't really have anything to do with the experience on the other.
Yes, I feel this way, too, and that's been my experience as well, but I can't ignore all the complaints about fan noise. I think a lot of people got stuck with a noisier unit than you and I did. Bad luck for them, good luck for us, I guess. But we can't use our own experience as the gauge, because it's clear that many other people are experiencing problems with fan noise.
I think that's a different question -- "How good has your personal experience been, with the Pro (or X)?" If I were to answer that question, I'd give my Pro a big ol' 10, because I've enjoyed the hell out of it, and I'd give my X a 3 or 4, because I've played maybe 20 hours total on it so far (only owned it a few months) and the gaming experiences have been fine but nothing particularly memorable so far. But I'm asking for an assessment of the console/hardware. Naturally, personal experience colors that assessment, as you can see in many of the replies, but I'm really trying to ask about an assessment of the console/hardware itself, rather than your personal experience with it.
As for comparisons, yeah, I heard someone earlier today refer to comparisons as the road to misery. But it's hard not to compare, and comparisons are part of how we rate things. I mean, we rate games based on how they stack up against other games. We rate movies based on how they stack up against other movies. Etc. So it's hard to escape comparison. It's fun when it's a downward comparison ("I'm better than you"), as Xbox fans are able to do now, but not so fun when it's going the other direction.
I have both (as do you) so it's not such a big deal but asking someone to rate a console really should mean how do you enjoy that particular machine IMO.
As I said I'm guilty of doing the same thing but comparing consoles that came out a year apart with a $100 price difference seems a bit off to begin with. It was one thing to compare how games ran on the standard X1 and the PS4 because they launched in the same month and the PS4 was actually $100 cheaper but the Pro and One X are different because of the length of time between when they actually released and of course the cost that game with upgrading the console to make it stronger even with that one year difference.
Pro is not worth $400 these days.

The One X doesn't do a whole lot for older games either, and don't forget older games already looked better on the PS4 than the standard One/S so there was less work to do, MS does force better texture filtering on old games but so many of the old games are 900P or less that it's hard to notice.. No BC is something that overall isn't a huge issue for most but it's a feature that's better to have than not have for sure.

Pretty much with X being a tad bit better as the Pro copying after downloading part is slow as molasses.I have found installs on my Pro and X to to identical.
You should prolly warranty it then. That is NOT normal behavior on One X as proven by re-pasting the APU.
