I'm catching up on the Game Awards announcements this morning, having turned the show off after about an hour last night. There were a lot of announcements, more than I expected -- and more games that interested me than I expected, too.
I figured a separate "best of" type thread would help, rather than having people try to read through the long GA thread. So, here are my favorite reveals from the show. Chime in with your own comments or picks.
Journey to the Savage Planet
I like the humor and the SF setting. Might be a while before it comes out, since gameplay won't be shown until next year (which granted isn't that far away).
Ancestors The Humankind Odyssey
I'm not thrilled by the gameplay shown, but I do love the setting and the ambition of trying to create a game like this, spanning millions of years.
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled
It's hard not to smile at this game. It's great that we're getting a good cart racer. June 21st.
The Outer Worlds
SP RPG with an SF setting and humor? Say no more. I'm in.
The Pathless
I'll buy anything these guys create. It'll probably be easy, like Abzu was, but that's fine.
The Last Campfire
This looks really nice. Definite Journey vibes. I heard it's coming to PC. Hope it comes to consoles as well. Good for Hello Games, trying a short project like this.
Far Cry New Dawn
Feb. 15th. The gameplay is very similar to Far Cry 5, but the post-apocalyptic setting allows the team to get a little weird, so it might be fun.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe
Funniest trailer I've seen in a while. I've always wanted to play this game, so I'm glad they're finally bringing it to consoles.
