The first gameplay trailer moved it to a buy on sale for me. Reviews have cemented that.

Plus I'm trying to finish up as many games as possible before Starfield so I've got no time for this anyways.
That's cool, they say it takes between 12-20 hours between different reviews so I'm thinking I may pick it up just to hold me over until Starfield comes out. I'm just glad someone is trying something a little different, it's good that EA is taking a risk IMO,

This looks like fun, I think I may end up getting it. At least part of me wants to get it just to reward someone for making a big budget single player game.
Honestly almost the whole reason I’m considering purchasing, I want big budget single player games to make a comeback

Woah, reading around it looks like this game is actually 15-25 hours like they said in interviews depending on how much side content you do. Rare for single player shooters. Went ahead and bought it but sadly can’t play until tonight

Well I put in a couple hours now and I’ve been surprised in good and bad ways. The good is that the game is way more fun than I anticipated. The movement feels so fluid, the combat is more satisfying than I imagined, and exploring off the main path is almost always rewarding.

The bad surprise is I am not impressed by the graphics. For all the hype about UE5 it’s pretty average. Doesn’t look bad and the art design is great, but just expected better

The more I play the more disappointed I am with the graphics. I’ll be curious to see a technical breakdown, the resolution has got to be pretty low

Well on PC, 1080P/60 FPS requires a 2080 so.... That's probably where console is at for performance mode.

I wonder why it takes so long to get new dynamic backgrounds added. Seems like they could just pump them out weekly. Or is there a storage space concern?

Native 1280x720 on Series X and PS5, Series S native 768x436 (lower than 480p 16:9 res) upscaled to 4K with FSR2, game's image quality looks REALLY bad. All around LOL's.

With UE5 games coming more and more in the future I don't get people who are against mid-gen refresh consoles, those won't even be hitting native 4K but they'll at least be upscaled from a higher native resolution than 720p. Those Series S cutbacks are pretty rough too.

The XSX and PS5 are supposed to be the same res but why does the latter IQ look sharper ?

- No Quality or 30fps mode
- PS5 : 1280x720 --> 4k Reconstruction via FSR 2.1 Performance when you Output 4K
- PS5 : 1280x720 --> 1080p Reconstruction via FSR 2.1 Quality when you Output 1080p, IQ is the same on both resolution mode.
- Series X : 1280x720 --> 4k Reconstruction via FSR 2.1
- Series S : 768x438 --> 4k Reconstruction via FSR 2.1
- Series S cut many thing like foilage, textures, SSR, ambient oclusion, alpha volumetric
- PS5 / XSX have frame drops when there are too many action / explosion on screen, or too much "magik" effect, scripted moment have not perfect and sometimes on cinematique
- XSX have advantage of 5-8 fps than the PS5
- PS5 have better menu screen with better SSR and AO (wow)
- XSS runs better than the XSX and PS5. But it also the worst IQ of the 3
- No difference for PS5 / XSX

This is an engine that is supposed to dominate the generation, with next gen features like lumen and nanite, it's looking like mid gen refreshes are almost a must at this point, FSR2 is not a great upscaling tech and it's odd that they would use that over UE5s TAAU.

The Pro consoles can't come soon enough. Looks like UE 5 at 60 fps is a struggle for these consoles. The XSS runs the best at 436p lol. Albeit with less visual settings, res and fidelity.

Exactly, I know some people want to make it a console wars thing but it's not about that, the reality is UE5 is going to be the most popular engine in the not-too-distant future and even a PS5 Pro or whatever MS may end up doing won't be able to run games at native 4K but I'd much rather see something upscaled from 1080p or 1440p to 4K than from 720p. If you look at Jedi Survivor that game is sub 720p at times in performance mode and that's a UE4 game.

Don't really need native 4K but youve gotta get closer than 720p at native. That games image quality looks awful, especially in motion.

Native 4k is a waste. The highest spec PC with a 4090 without DLSS runs I forget which new game at like 30 fps barely. The future is still sub 4k with AI reconstruction for efficiency.

This definitely validates my experience with the game’s graphics. The lack of clarity takes any punch out of the image, despite pretty good art direction

This person also noted the sharper picture of the PS5 . Perhaps a different post processing effect ?

Tom "Curiously it's also noted that PS5 resolves with a sharper image overall, despite sharing the same base resolution with Series X - a point that possibly suggests a different post-processing treatment between the two.","slight change to ambient shading on PS5"

The PS5 version seems to have slightly higher graphics Quality, but the 720p resolution isn't enough.
Here's an image of the part Tom mentioned.

Series S wins again. Unless Frames don't count this week.
