Battlefield V

Its what most are blaming for bad pre-orders(along with a female in the trailer)

I do by far prefer modern but am liking what they shown and think this looks much better than the letdown that was BF1.

lol. Then most people are idiots.

Pre-orders are down because pre-orders are down in general. Also, the lack of marketing for the game is a more reasonable point than females being in the game. I mean that first trailer(only trailer til recently) was terrible. Then add in that it has lodged itself going toe to toe with RDR 2.

The game will sell well. The state of pre-orders in the digital era are blown out of proportion. Pre-orders really don't matter anymore....especially for games that are pushing themselves as GaaS games--which Battlefield is.

It will sell well cause it should play well.
Many dumb gamers are stuck on stupid and just like to hate on EA when we know other companies like Activision have more bs with them.

People realize there's no need to pre-order until you find a good deal. I wouldn't preorder but the BF1 deal was posted I jumped on it.

BF games always have a dedicated group playing. BF1 still has lots of people playing.

I just think it is hilarious. Gamers cry because the game has female characters on the Battlefield and when they get called idiots by one of the developers they cry to high heaven. Those people are idiots. They complain about not being authentic but have no problem being part of the unblanced sniper meta.

What did you not like about BF1?

Going in I wasn’t sure what to expect with the WW1 setting. I thought they pulled it off well and made a really fun game. It was a blast to play with friends.
The TTK and the exaggerated bullet drop ruins the experience which i have on both consoles.

Honestly, as a casual online mp player and a gamer who follows the gaming industry, which would probably make me equal to most who buys games, the reason I'm not buying this day one is fairly straight forward; battlefront 2 fiasco.
Not going to support a company that has shown how much they've lost touch with their consumers until they've show a change in ways. Not applauding them for not having lootboxes but happingly go out and say we'll have microtransactions for cosmetics and in next breath tell me whole progression system will be going for cosmetics.

I think the BF2 fiasco is exactly why you should buy it. This game won't suffer the same fate. As s***ty as EA can be, they are not going to ruin another massive game, perhaps their flagship title, by making the same mistakes. It is bad business.

As for Microtransactions...I recall them saying everything you can buy you can also earn in game and is cosmetic. Which is pretty much best case scenario for microtransactions

I didn't like BF1 because it was extremely simplified and stream lined. Almost like EA's Battlefront.

I guess the "don't like it, don't buy it" comment from Soderlund has come to fruition. I just heard he left EA.

Console BF’s my favorites in no order

BF3
BF Bad Company
BF Hardline

BF3 is probably the BF I put the most time in it was a great game. I had a big group of friends to play it with. Conquest on Metro was the s***. I was also a fan of the map pack that had all the CQ small maps.

For some reason I have more fond memories of BC1 than 2. I played it with a few buddies and we played it a lot. The rush mode was great on that game.

Hardline I played toward the end of my 360 run. All my friends moved on to One so I picked up Hardline to play solo on 360. I put in months into that game I loved playing the Hiest and Money bag mode. I would like to see another Hardline game one day.

Agreed!! And somehow people are making this an SJW problem, which is so confusing. I mean I get that SJW’s try to ruin a lot of stuff and shouldn’t be taken seriously, but how this game became surrounded by that drama is beyond me.

People saying women soldiers can’t be in a Battlefield game are clueless, and EA calling customers uneducated and telling them not to buy the game is a pretty terrible way to handle it.

How are people even taking sides here lol? There isn’t a good side to take!!

This is the most nonsensical anti-consumer corporate apologist baloney I've ever read around here. Why should anyone give EA a second chance when they've been burned by their pathetic mismanagement and greedy business practices?

I wasn't gonna get this one due to being sick of ww2 shooters since big red 1. Now I refuse any EA products on principle. They aren't allowed to ruin the gaming presence of possibly the single most popular franchise on the planet and expect no consequences. At the very least, they lost me.

Did not say you should give them a second chance. Your situation is very different to the poster I replied to. The other poster implied he wants the game...he just isn;t buying day 1 because of the BF2 mess.

Just a shame your principles didn;t stop you coming into an EA game related thread.

Everything is an SJW problem to the SJW idiots.

It is a terrible way to handle it...but it was also true.

Nope. Not come to fruition at all. Watch...watch this sell equal or better than BF1.

He did leave, yes. Not suprising at all.

If it doesn't it's likely the fact that it doesn't look all that different from the last one and it's releasing between COD and RDR2. I have a feeling sales for both COD and BFV will be down compared to the previous game in each series. I think going with the WW2 setting for BFV is a bit of a mistake but we'll see.

COD should lose sales just for its DLC bulls***...and the fact it looks like proper trash.

BFV won't be down...its day one or month 1 sales might be. But Battlefield 5 is a GaaS game with free DLC and events. It will sell well long after Fall. I don't think the WW2 setting is a mistake at all. We have barely had a break from Modern Battlefield...something the fans wanted a change from.

BF will be just fine. A ton of people still play BF1. Micro-transactions are only cosmetic in this game, so the gamer justice warriors can focus their efforts somewhere else.

Seeing everyone's opinions on the best battlefield game is always interesting too. Wrong of course... but interesting.

This is the only best BF game :hehe:

We'll see, we just had a WW1 BF and a WW2 COD and a lot of people had gotten sick of WW2 games not all that long ago. I'm sure it'll still do well as it's a BF game but I think maybe they should alternate between modern and historical settings.

Looks like the first Battlefield/Battlefront game I’ll buy this gen. BF2 was a disaster with its loot boxes but this game looks to be doing things right and be a good value. No loot boxes. Free DLC. A single player campaign. BR mode in addition to standard stuff. Evolution on the technical side.

Don’t understand how Activision skates under the radar when they offer far worse value with their same, tired unevolving game engine, no single player, paid DLC and timed exclusives.

Iignorance is bliss.
Bf2 had no loot box problem when it launched as DICE removed it before launch.

Yeah I got BF2 not long after launch and I felt the bad press was over blown. The loot box was not a problem (if I remember right it was very limited). The game was well done and a lot of fun.
