As the hype dies down I think many here would change their score of the event. It was the *best* show they have done in years in terms of just flow and presentation, but overall was anything even close to MEGATON worthy in regards to the Xbox brand?

  • No VR
  • No Xbox Stream demo (like SteamLink)
  • No new Elite Controller
  • No keyboard/mouse support
  • No new OG Xbox BC titles and a missed opportunity to demo Duke gamepad
  • 2 GoW games no one gives a damn about
  • Only one Halo title in the works and we get zero information coupled with an engine tech demo
  • No MCC update info?
  • Seriously.....only ONE Halo game in the works right now and development has barely started?
  • No new Hydro Thunder (lol sorry that was my own little wishlist title)

If you like Gears of War, Forza, and Game Pass than you had a good E3 lol. Oh and and people who for some reason think Ori is a mind blowing game also are happy. Every other *big* thing shown on stage will also be on PS4 so.....while great multi-plat games are also great games...it's was Xbox's stage you know?

I expect Sony's show to be less professional with cringe worthy moments, but likely to be more about PlayStation in terms of games and experiences only available on Sony's system. Stuff that makes you say dammit, I need a PlayStation.

First it's too much Halo, and now it's not enough Halo!!!! From milking the franchise to a franchise drought.

Oh Halo!

Hydro thunder ? Keyboard/Mouse support ?? LMFO !!!

First it's too much Halo, and now it's not enough Halo!!!! From milking the franchise to a franchise drought.

Oh Halo!

When has there been too much Halo? Over the span of Xbox brand:

  • 5 main Halo games, same genre, expected sequels
  • ODST was a glorified DLC for Halo 3 released 8 years ago
  • Halo Wars, 2 titles of the RTS genre
  • MCC which is just remasters of Halo 1-4

Hydro thunder ? Keyboard/Mouse support ?? LMFO !!!

Well I said Hydro Thunder in jest, as it's just a little personal wishlist title. Can't help it if I'm sick of Forza being the only racing style that can ever be again apparently.

As for Keyboard/mouse support......given the lack of any new Xbox related hardware at E3 I do think it would have been *something* lol

New Hydro Thunder would be cool. How about Blood Wake as well for vehicle combat.

That would also be very cool. Not trying to be a Forza hater but I miss the arcade racers of old like RUSH and Hydro Thunder and stuff. Just fun and the opposite of a simulator with crazy amounts of details put into the cars. Addicting games like BLUR.

Have you looked into Onrush? I never tried the beta they had but it looks like a fun arcade racer.

What does this sentence mean? Like....if they had shown off a cool Halo live demo we would have still been bashing that lol?

So either you are being genuinely naive or obtuse. Gamers have said ad nauseam that MS has milked the s*** out of Halo. The complained they have been milking the franchise to death with Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo Reach, Halo 3 ODST, Halo 5, Halo Wars 1, Halo Wars 2, Halo MCC, Halo Spartan Assault, Halo Fireteam Raven, Halo Spartan Strike, Halo Infinite and then all of the Halo toys, clothes, collectibles, limited edition consoles...

People have been saying it over and over and over and over.

I want Halo just like the next guy, but I want to wait for something fresh and new like what God of War did to the franchise, is worth waiting for IMO.

All I know is if anything I'm an Xbox fanboy by heart and that left me wanting a lot more. Maybe the games and studios they focused on just aren't my kind of games (and that's ok). Maybe I was just too hyped? I didn't think it was terrible, but it left me wanting a lot more. Usually I'm the person telling others they were too hyped up and have unrealistic expectations.

I love Halo, but they needed a lot more Halo to make me happy. Obviously what little we got means the new game is a long way away and nothing at all on MCC was surprising?

If a longtime Xbox/Halo fan walks away from an event like that and didn't get enough Halo... someone messed up.

Horizon is also a ton of fun, but there's only so much they can do with that.
Wish they would bring back ODST. The new Halo looks to be 2 years away.

A number of things actually. They don't invest in any first party studios so they go and get a few but that's not good enough. Or there's too much Halo or not enough Halo. Etc...

I think the good that came out of this conference is that MS is investing quite a bit for future projects. Hopefully we will see some AAA first party games. But according to the YouTube vomit I've been reading that doesn't matter either cause it will be on PC too. So technically MS doesn't truly have 1st party games according to some.

Seriously, tho! Lol

Also, who said that if we thought about it, we'd retract our vote for Microsoft E3?! Lol! Boy, please.. The more I think a out it afterwards, the more glad I am that I didn't hand in the towel when so many were painting a story if doom and gloom. Microsoft killed that s***!

Again, my only disappointments were no Ryse 2 or Recore announcements. Other than that, it felt like we were bombarded with game after game after studio after game. This E3 was nuts!

I can see the bad press from things in past E3's but damn they put on a good show and get worse press then ever! The h8 is real.

Best E3 I've seen in a while. SoT is at 4 million players. And it looks like GP is getting ready to truly do a Netflix style approach with some of the games coming out. GP is gonna be a monster. Great forward thinking on Microsofts part.

They doubled their studios overnight. How anyone can't see that being a major positive, is beyond me. Halo Infinite looks like its going to be open world ridiculousness all over again. Fo sho! Microsoft killed that s***. Banger after banger after banger!

See I don't care for the things you listed(minus Halo) and yet still enjoyed the show!
Something for everybody!

I just don't understand why MS leaves MechAssault to rust. What about Shadowrun? Crimson Skies?

Has anyone heard if one of these studios going finish Scalebound? Or is that even possible?

I said earlier that I saw a tweet from somebody saying that Ninja Theory will finish Scalebound. No clue who they were, so take with a massive grain of salt.

Matt was on point with his statement about MS buying "more" than the 4 studios (Santa Monica, Undead Labs, 2 Playgrounds). The missing piece there was Ninja Theory, which was the big surprise of the show for me. That's a good studio to help solve the lack of narrative/story/character-driven games. I wonder what sort of project they'll tackle next. Probably something a little lighter than Hellblade.

Don't forget the biggest bullet-point -- no new AAA exclusive announcements. That was what a lot of people were looking to this conference for. Looks like the next couple years are going to be a lot like the last few.

I thought you said it would only be good if they announced games for this gen

And many of us prepared ourselves and realized when Phil at E3 said last year they were still 2-3 years out and he wouldn't announce games early anymore. I think most of us agreed that we most likely wouldn't see anything, unless it was a CGI tease (similar to say Halo Infinite).

And not single one was there. Lol.

That one about MS buying EA still cracks me up.

Fable was never going to be there if the Playground games rumour were correct. That would still be a minimum of 3 years away...more likely 4 years.

Rest of this gen is going to be like the last few years. None of these new studios are going to be putting out new AAA IPs this gen. Guess we could get a 3rd party game or 2 paid exclusivity.
