And this is why gaming on the PC is an entirely different experience!

There is enough material generated by Skyrim modders to make a Skyrim 2. Bethesda should get with these guys and do it, for the consoles, and make some money.
There is an unwritten rule in the Game modding community. Mods are for fanbase, & should not charge money.

I've tested a few ENB''s with FONV and gotten decent result, but this one is simply gorgeous, it seriously looks like art. Which ENB is it and what are your settings? If you wouldn't mind posting your enb ini settings that'd be much appreciated.

Did you install the weapons texture pack as well?
You may like this as too....LOL....get a motorcycle for traversing the wasteland..

Anyway...also make sure you have downloaded the maximum/large/performance packs for the nmc with the large address mod.

I am seriously thinking of going PC only route. The weak spec on next gen consoles play a huge part. I will set up a delicated PC in living room. No sub 1080p or compromise.

The one think I hate is compatibility issue, which I still have on occasions, though rarer these days.

I'd suggest if you can afford to... get a nice pc and I don't care what anyone says don't go cheap. Spend some doe and have it for years to come.
If you jump we can help you with advice. Just so you know I am a living room gamer and this includes my pc gaming.

EDIT:I wouldn't only get a nice pc I'd also get a console to do with it and it wouldn't be a wii u.

Definitely agree with going pc!. My gf and I have our pc's set up in the living room (1 bed room apt). I got a 15 ft hdmi cable to plug into my 55 inch tv when I want to game on it. That's how I've been playing Titanfall using my 360 controller and it's worked great. I should check out fallout as I've never played the series before

In my experience this mods basically are for the pirated.. oh.. I mean retail version of the games.

Installing these on legit copies, aka steam versions, is a pain in the ass.

ENB broke my GTA install.. followed their "steam instructions" to a T.. everyone on the internet, to me.. clearly pirated the game to play it.

I'm a PC gamer, and WISH I could enjoy these mods.. but I'm honestly not convinced they are worth the time. Too many broken installs.. even Steamworks stuff is littered with the need to download and install specific versions of 3rd party utilities.. "This needs scriptwidget 1.23.34.2 not 1.3.4.2.4".. oh and "It'll break your saves" stuff.

WAT!??
You need to play these games! The Fallout series has been my favorite series for a while. You can play Fallout & Fallout 2 pretty easily by just downloading them. Do a quick google search. They are old school but the feel cannot be denied. They are great games.
Of course fallout 3/nv are the pinnacle of the series (IMHO) and the modding community has got to task on them.
Though I hear Skyrims mods are truly epic so i might have to check them out sometime.

Perhaps learning about Steam's In home Game Streaming will aid you in your PC setup since I know you're a console guy. :)

It's in Beta at the moment.

I've modded the hell out of Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Dark Souls (60 fps fix FTW) on three different PCs and other than the rare load order issue (easily fixed by running BOSS) I've had no issues with any mods for any of these games across 3 PCs with very different hardware.

I've also modded Mass Effect 1 on one PC which sucks because texture mods make load times unbearable. On top of that I've modded countless FPS games, Dragons Age Origins and a few others with little to no trouble at all.

P.S. Steamworks sucks for modding.

Legit Steam purchased copies modded?

Just hasn't been my experience that it works out well.

I'm not very patient though; I'm fully capable.. I code for a living.. but I spend all day debugging s***, the last thing I want to do is figure out why a mod is crashing my game.

Steamworks is partly garbage though because of my point: modders and the general PC gamer community pirate the hell out of games. Hardly anyone buys actual "retail" copies of PC games, yet why are the instructions 9 times out of 10 for the retail copy?

Steamworks games generally support texture mods, or really any kind of mod.. but the ones on Steamworks aren't anywhere near as good as the quite obvious designed for pirated copies versions.

Doesn't take a genius to figure it out. I've also been on the internet long enough to know that most people won't admit to PC game piracy either.

Don't, he'll just moan like f*** about them.

I don't care what the next-gen console Fallout 4 looks like. I know it'll look good enough for me.

I really wanted to build a PC, but none of my friends are on it. It's hard to leave all your Xbox Live friends behind & that awesome controller as well. The KB/Mouse I was never good at. I do feel the Xbox One & PS4 are greatly underpowered compared to PC as well. That really made me upset. The Kinect shouldn't have been included, then $50-$100 more in hardware. The crammed a Kinect down people's throats that nobody wanted to begin with!

Hey....keyboard and mouse isn't always the only way. Alot of modern PC games also support a controller..Xbox or Ps3/Ps4 (with some software needed that you can download for free.
You can save and get a really good rig for like $1600 that will last you this entire gen and well into next...add in some peripherals if you need a mouse/keyboard/monitor probably around $1700ish. Still not bad! Plus...mods, resolutions beyound 1080p (4k), every graphical bell and whistle you need.
But also don't ditch your Xb1 or PS4 so that you can still game with your friends on there. Best of both worlds.

you do realize that you do not have to pirate the game. The pirate copies are exactly the same as steam copies apart from they bypass steam. If Steam is really the reason then just use one of he cracks and bypass it. As long as you back up 3-4 files beforehand swapping from legit and cracked is easy peasy.

Good mods are always worth the time. Not just graphical either but MODS that change gameplay or add missions.

Haters may hate but I thought New Vegas was better than 3. I found DC to be dull compared to the wasteland of the desert. Never ran into any of the bugs people claimed there were.

GTA steam edition was kind of a pain in the butt early on. That ice mod was then made compatible with the steam version and I was able to do it no problem. Skyrim/fallout however are HIGHLY moddable steam version or no.

The thing is, it's not Steam's fault, it's the games themselves.

At least with Fallout and TES if you install them in the normal steam folder (C/Program files/Steam/etc/etc/etc/etc) you can run into a lot of issues with some mods. For the best results you want to create a new install destination for these games that do not end up under a program files folder.

Personally my modded games are all installed under C/Steam/etc/etc/etc

and I've had zero issues outside of a badly done load order which as I said earlier is an easy fix.

But Bunz' issues do make me wish modding was supported better with Steam. It would be cool as hell to play through a game then check out mods and say "I'd love to add these 10 mods", check the mods I want, click "add mods" and have it all done and work properly.

FO3, in my opinion had one and only 1 thing over FONV and that was random encounters. Other than that I prefer everything about FONV from story to world to characters and especially dialog.

Didn't realize FNV was so different than F4. Never got it as I filled myself up on the first and all it's DLC, figured NV was more of the same, especially look wise. Glad to see that it looks different overall, regardless of texture packs.

Mods are mostly free, if you do not include the donation part, since its voluntary.

but correct me if I am wrong.
So it's not an unwritten rule then if people get paid to do it. Nothing wrong with getting paid to do your work.

Most people, I'd say 99.99% of them, that create mods for games do it for the community and because they love the game. I've seen buttons for donations, especially for the larger mods (bug patches for the fallout games) but by and large mods are free and always have been.
