Have you read one of the gospels yourself? It would be hard to discern whether or not the Word is being changed, added to, or purposefully being twisted into something that it doesn't mean without at least having a Holy Bible to reference. A trustworthy Christian leader of any denomination will make their sermon directly from the Holy Bible, telling the congregation the book, chapter, and verse that their message is coming from, simply because its proof that what they are teaching you is in fact true, you can read it for yourself. You will find that the Bible is much harder to twist, change, or add to than you currently seem to believe. There might be minor differences in interpretation between different Christian denominations, but they all ultimately end up in the same place.

You can even choose which translation is the easiest for you to understand. Some folks harp on about only using the King James translation. But Ive found that the New International Version is easier for most people to understand. You can switch between the two and plainly see that they both have the same meaning. Some people are just old fashioned I guess.
